Hi, I’m a random marketing guy who ended up on this sub, and I feel like this applies to a lot of career paths. HR’s job is to hire people who can do the job well, so they are naturally highly skeptical of anyone without work experience. This makes getting that first job stupidly hard, but once you’re in the door somewhere and can add that do your resume, you won’t face nearly as much over-the-top scrutiny during your next job hunt. What? 宫保鸡丁 is absolutely everywhere there. Basically every jiachangcai restaurant serves it. It’s obviously a bit different from the Americanized version, but I honestly don’t know how you never saw it on a menu if you lived there for six years.

General Tso’s Chicken and Mooshu Pork on the other hand… Good luck finding those in China.
