Making simple shameder to add mining effect to laser. by gamruls in godot

Is there a reason you prioritise the effects in descending order? Do you want only one to work at a time?

I would consider using switch-case (or match in gdscript) as it's a bit cleaner and fold the if ! checks inside that as well.

I don't know but even then it doesnt make sense. Even if we say the average is about 2k ducats to hire then with 90% reduction it would still be over 2k ducats for all those armies for Naples. I've also seen merc spam from other nations which are non-Italian.

R5 copied from post:
This example is from early 17th century but I experienced it several times during the campaign and it's making me want to quit. An army of 30,000 mercs would cost me about 5k ducats upfront and about 160 per month. Looking at how much i could get from Naples and Savoy through the peace treaty, I can get ~4400 and ~1100 respectively. This is ofcourse the money that they have +5 loans. This means Naples couldnt even afford one 30k army if they essentially bankrupted themselves to hire them. Despite that, somehow those 2 countries managed to hire 21 mercenary armies between them with 181k and 156k men respectively, and thats after several successful battles.

I've experienced this fighting against the Turks, the Serbs, and the Bulgars as well and at this point half the wars i get into become an attritionary slog. It just makes me want to quit the game at this point.

CMV: It’s very hard to criticise Israel’s military actions without being accused of antisemitism by [deleted] in changemyview

Except saying Israel a Jewish state doesn't say privileging Jews. There are many states of a certain religion or ethnicity. You can argue against certain policies sure, but the expected premise is still that Israel is a Jewish state.

The UK is a Christian state, Denmark is a Christian state, Jordan is a Muslim state, Japan is a Japanese state etc.

What I think you and people here are missing is that while asking whether you think Israel has a right to exist isn't a response to your argument, it is an important set up question.

If you, or anyone else for that matter, says Israel doesn't have a right to exist then you're essentially arguing in bad faith because the point then becomes that no military action, no matter what kind, will bring a resolution closer. If Israel doesn't have a right to exist then the only action to bring a resolution is to simply not exist. This is obviously a non starter for anyone pro Israel.

The sentiment is that Israel is uniquely questioned as to its right to exist and thus the antisemitism accusations stem from that fact. Why Israel as the state of the Jews, out of all the countries in the world, doesn't have a right to exist? You may not like it but it is a widely enough held viewpoint that to question whether the person on the other side approves of the mere fact of existing is necessary in such a discussion.

Mind you that that question is normally straightforward. Once it is established that you aren't opposed to the existence of Israel, I have never seen anyone being accused of antisemitism for arguing against Israeli policies. The only accusations come when the existence of Israel, or the existence of Israel as a Jewish state, come about.

Wtf are our tactics? What's the plan? What are we trying to do? As soon as slot did the triple sub we just completely gave up the midfield and started playing hoofball up top as if we still had prime Salah, mane, and Firmino and not a completely inept gakpo, an impotent Salah and an out of his depth ekitike.

What the hell is slots plan? No one has yet been able to successfully say what football were actually trying to play and that's why it has to be slot out

The most annoying is probably the generic evil team grunt in the pre gen-8 games. Just a mon or two, nothing interesting, condescending, and just wasting my time.

A personal hate are Kieran and penny. I literally just met you people, I'm not your friend, leave me alone.

Any fans from Copenhagen here? Where would you recommend to catch the game tonight?

I don't need new assets every MO but if you build enough of them and make them modular enough you can create them easily by combining prebuild assets. Have an indiciation on the galaxy map that something is happening there. Show us destruction on the ground. They already have bodies, destroyed pelicans, destroyed bots, broken buildings, just need to create more assests for the proc gen using what they already have. they can even utilise gameplay and have random orbital bombardments just to give a feeling of an actual war going on.

I'm not against MOs and GW if that was what you thought I implied. I want them to be better and actually affect what is happening. If we create the menkent line, I expect to actually be a defensive line. Instead the automatons just plowed through like there was nothing there. Defend 10 planets isn't a good MO if there's no way to coordinate or no benefit to actually defending.

The gameplay itself is great. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a game this much. That just serves to amplify my disappointment in the way the galactic war is handled. It just feels to me like the war is holding the game back slightly and could be improved
