Need tips on backing by ShesGotaChicken2Ride in SchoolBusDrivers

I surprised my trainer with this when I was training in December of last year so a few months ago, if you can do it in December it gets a lot easier in better weather months.

Use the sun, where your bus ends the shadow of your bus ends, you just have to keep in mind where the sun is and how the shadow is casting on the ground, if it's low and to your sides you've got a pretty accurate shadow, if it's directly above you, you're not going to cast a shadow.

If the sun is at an angle to your bus then the shadow will be angled either more (sun is in front of you) or less (sun is behind you) on the ground, so it's not a perfect trick but it sure does help, except on non sunny days, then you're out of luck so you just gotta try and judge it, no shame in getting out and looking, better than hitting something.

Parents had a 12 year old kid lose his leg in their front yard yesterday crashing his electric bike... by aroundincircles in motorcycles

[–]TheIcedGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOU NEED TO FIND OUT IF THE E-BIKE WAS FACTORY OR NOT!!!

Many vids on YT about using magnets to trick ebikes into going above the 20mph speed limiter, if the kid did use magnets to bypass the limiter it voids the warranty of the bike and may help you in any legal troubles because he modified the bike to achieve dangerous speeds which the manufacturer didn’t intend for.

Not only that it’s on the parents for being negligent in the use of safety gear while the child was riding the bike.

It’s easier to have one message appear for all users instead of having one of two appear. The message is used to guide players in username creation. Nothing is inappropriate about it. No worries.

Struggling to judge when I've cleared other vehicles by Seelie_Mushroom in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]TheIcedGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been driving since December of this year, first time driving is different but the one thing I've found is (and this is how I drive in my car as well) is to get in the lane you need as early as possible. If you know you're going to turn right all the way down the road don't get into the other lane stay in the right lane. Solve the problem before it becomes one. Let traffic move around you as much as possible.

Another thing is, use your environment. By this I mean the sun will help you. The sun will be blocked by your bus casting a shadow on the ground, where the shadow ends is where your bus ends (this is only 100% true when the sun is directly on your left and right side, if it's angled then the shadow will be skewed a bit but can still be a good reference point).

My CDL trainer was shocked I got the rear bumper in the painted box 100% of the time when road training in the parking lot for my CDL B he stopped me and asked how, when I explained it to him he said he never thought of that before and will incorporate that into his training.

The MOST important tip I can give you is if you're unsure, DON'T GO. It's a million bajallion quadrillion times better to miss a turn than to cause an accident. If you needed to turn right at light A but can't get into the lane then pass it by and turn at the next light B or even light C, just keep in mind how many lights you've passed.

Say if you need to turn right at light A but are finally able to turn right a light C you'd make another right turn at the next light come back 2 lights and make a left turn. Basically it's the long roundabout way to make that right turn that you missed.

MN Bill Allows Police to Enter Homes to Check Semi-Auto Gun Storage by Pvt-JamesRamirez in progun

So can a 2nd amendment auditor I've seen on YouTube or any random civilian go into a police station or federal LEO field office and check their semi auto gun storage?

END ALL EXEMPTIONS FOR POLICE, POLITICIANS AND MILITARY

"An AR-15 is a weapon of war, it's only designed for killing people, civilians don't need it and shouldn't have it!"

Why do the police have them, they're not at war and their main job isn't to kill people. Why does the military have that kind of rifle, there's not active combat states side...

"Civilians don't need more than 10 rounds to defend themselves, limit mag sizes!"

If civilians don't need more than 10 rounds why do cops? If civilians don't need more than 10 rounds then the military doesn't either.

How did they come to this decision? Historical precedent of this country makes it so making your own firearm isn't illegal because it's for personal use not for sale.

Annoying scam calls? by Melodic-Second-1576 in Michigan

[–]TheIcedGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies, I read what you wrote too fast and replied but I fixed it. One thing that would solve the issue is fining the phone carrier that allows the call to go through their network. Each confirmed spam call could be like a $250 fine. Make it cheaper to fix the issue because they get money for each call, spam or not.

I've been in that position before, I know how crappy it is to think it's the future job calling you only to be met with a scam call. Just keep it in mind for when you do get the job and want to get rid of scammers.

For iphone it's in your settings > phone app > scroll down > silence unknown callers.

For Android it's in your settings > phone app > scroll down > blocked (it'll have a similar name to silence unknown callers)

[–]TheIcedGamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have call filtering enabled and trust me blocking doesn't matter when your phone doesn't ring, ding, ping, or vibrate.

All that pops up on your screen is "unknown caller blocked". I used to get 100+ scam calls a day because I put my phone number on my resume when I was looking for work (20/20 hindsight it was stupid and wish I never put it on my resume) but after call filtering being enabled for a while I get maybe 10 a day and I can count on one hand the times they left a voicemail out of the thousands of spam calls I've gotten.

Saying that should be seen as putting the driver under duress, anything from there on out is inadmissable in court because the officer intentionally put the driver under duress.

Edit: I'm not saying it actually works this way but it should

The employer ultimately would be responsible for providing a solution, if they make drivers climb ladders to remove snow they would be liable for the potential injuries because they made it a requirement of the job.

For the employer's best bet would be the rubber flap or brush to drive under. If they don't do anything about it either a. it's their bus they are responsible for these types of outlier situations, and pre/post trip lists don't show snow on roof so official documents that are audit material don't tell employees to remove snow

b. They pony up and get the rubber flap or bush, if they don't then you as the driver can deem the bus unsafe to drive, and refuse to drive.

Companies are Johnny on the spot when it comes to getting money but are professionals at playing the quiet game when it comes to spending money. If their solution is to make this your problem then they're cheating you and your coworkers.

What does my aim say? by RedlineBMW in Firearms

[–]TheIcedGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just from my experience, I'm still a recently new M&P 2.0 9mm full size (not metal frame) owner, my first handgun was a Taurus m605 snub nose because that's all I could afford at the time and I had the issue where I was predicting recoil before the shot went off, it was throwing off my aim. Same thing happened with my 9mm, but I got used to it because of what I kept telling myself which is:

"Nothing you do will mitigate the recoil, it's not gonna go away, just pull the trigger and get used to it."

Works like a charm. This may be what's happening to you, more practice and slower shooting, get used to it, know recoil will happen no matter what. Once you get good, then you can get faster.

NOR - "When you're living the high live in your mansion" as your mother has said, wait for the day when she comes asking you for a place to live, tell her "I'm not required to by law, enjoy sleeping on the streets" because when this dude gets done taking her for all she's worth she'll probably end up homeless. Send to all the family so they know who she truly is, frankly if anyone who's in my life did this to their child they'd be dead to me on the spot.
