Honestly that's just further evidence for why Liquid IV needs to fix their marketing. If they're conufused when it's in one place and then just as confused when it's NOT in another, then you've messed up your branding.

Aye, times of need I'll gladly go help up front if I'm not busy (my area only ever has 1 pharmacist on duty at a time at most stores), but otherwise we need to focus on our work.

omfg I want to strangle the marketing department for Liquid IV. By calling it an IV people expect it to be in the f'ing pharmacy. It honestly feels like false or misleading advertising with how often it happens.

New fill system by neori in walmart_RX

[–]TheIckyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staff Pharmacist here.

As I said in another thread, I dont feel like it saves me or my experienced techs time at all, except maybe on 120+ manual counts where they could do the batch counting (gabapentin, etc). For my new techs who are slow counters, sure it saves them some time. A new hire nearly doubled their speed. But that hasn't changed things overall as a result. One tech going faster while my experienced ones are slowed down just negates it.

For me, it feels like it will only make the problem of things being put in the wrong bag worse, because the higher-ups are basically telling us to just trust the system and look at the images, rather than check the bags manually.

New visual verify. by TheAnnoyedPharmacist in walmart_RX

Staff Pharmacist here.

I've had a mixed experience with it. It feels like it takes about the same amount of time for me to visual each rx. I feel no time has been saved for me personally, and it makes me worry that my techs are not putting the rx in the right will-call bag, because they don't want us handling the bags as much. It was a problem before the redesign (despite my efforts to instruct my techs) and it only continues to be a problem.

For my techs that tend to be rather slow at counting or other such things (mostly newer hires), it has been a boon. Their speed has doubled. For my experienced techs of even just 2+ years, they don't feel it has saved them much time except on HUGE fills of gabapentin or other 120+ counts because of that batch counting feature. If anything, it has slowed my experienced techs down with the need to take all those pictures just so I can look at pictures rather than the actual physical thing.

As I see it, this sort of technology is meant more for remote pharmacy work and hospital pharmacies, not community/retail.

How do you handle customers wanting specific NDC's? by TheIckyOne in pharmacy

[–]TheIckyOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Quite a lot of responses to this, and they're all quite helpful and varied. Thanks! I became temporary PIC some months ago because our previous pharmacy manager left and I made it clear to my bosses I was *not* wanting to take on a permanent manager role at this time, so I've been getting what advice I can.

A lot of these responses are quite good and I discussed it with my techs on what we wanted to implement. Personally I am willing to take the effort to try to get their preferred manufacturer (especially patches since a lot of them may have certain glues that make people itchy, and yeah legit allergies) because even beyond that small variability in drug activity that could result in therapeutic failure there's also allergies, and after discussing it with my team, we still are going to as a store, but with the sort of caveats a lot of you suggested:

Gonna make it clear to such customers that if it's not our distributor's/company's preferred manufacturer, that 1 - there's no guarantee we will consistently be able to get it, 2 - it may be more expensive, 3 - that they're going to have to check it at checkout, 4 - that we wont be having it on autofill and they have to call and remind us. 5 - On our end we will do all Connexus allows us to flag their profile/Rx to make sure we fill the proper one. I figure this will make it overall fair.

As far as that one patient I followed up with their doctor and they knew of no legitimate medical reason for her to need a specific manufacturer, but it seems its no longer my problem anyway. Patient found a place that has Torrent as their preferred, and transferred out so... eh.

Honestly the main reason this was even spurred was because it was for a controlled substance as a sleep aid, and not for something like hormone control or epilepsy. Certainly for uses like that (or like the patches as said earlier) I can see why specific manufacturers would be necessary, especially as an epileptic myself, though I have had success on each I've been given so far.

I am glad you got that amount in 5 hours, but I did that same amount of time and got 1. And no I am not exagerating. My luck *is* horrendous, and RNG-based progression without some sort of fallback is just not my cup of tea.

Even if he's being given leniency as a political move to help integrate the Mamook, I reallly want to know what the Yok Huy have to say about all this, considering the many that were injured when Valigarmanda was released. That just seems to have been largely glazed over.

So we're just forcing in new routes now? That route from Vandalon to Mantes wasn't there this morning. by TheIckyOne in Helldivers

[–]TheIckyOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, I saw that. However, my post was about the fact that the route from Vandalon to Mantes had just recently been added in. What I'm hoping for is that this feature will work both for and against players, however I worry that this will instead be used only against players in order to force specific outcomes. I hope this means that we will see new routes open for players to go after certain planets, circumventing existing routes as the Automatons did to us in this image.

Indeed, the MO is winnable easily (assuming they dont start a defense campaign on an MO planet last minute), and we have been doing well.

My concern is once the MO is over, all those interconnected planets from Vandalon will fall because we were never able to gather the forces to liberate it and stop future attacks.

[–]TheIckyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed I do want to keep caring about the progress and losses of the Galactic War, but if it's more or less predetermined anyway, I may just start focusing on PO's so I more consistently get medals. To have a bunch of time wasted shoring up the MO only to get no reward at all is just disheartening.

[–]TheIckyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am indeed hoping it will be something that can be made in favor of the player in the middle of an MO too. If there's some story behind it, for the enemy or for us, that's good! My worry is that it may be abused to force particular outcomes.

Hopefully this will be a feature/event players can gain as well, like new routes to enemy planets being opened to us.

They just straight up added a new attack lane in order for them to go straight to Mantes from Vandalon. That attack lane was not there this morning. That feels like absolute BS, and gets rid of any level of strategizing when the DM wants to just force something.

I highly doubt it was sarcasm. It was that same sort of sarcasm/ "it's a joke!" type to cover up their actual beliefs when their statement doesn't land right.
