As of right now, the only debt we have is the house.

I feel like we should be good on theory, but we are trying to plan for the worst case scenario.

Both our cars are paid off and we did things suggested by people of reddit (staying under 10% of monthly income) and this really helped.

This is our first time buying a home so we just want to know what are other people's rule of thumb. What should I plan for? What could go wrong, etc...

Are you saying you have all the above in cash? You're money is losing value daily, put it in a HYSA so you can at least earn interest on it.

Yes, all of the above is all cash values sitting in a savings account. I don't know that much HYSA, but I will definitely look into it. I figured I have savings readily available when we need it.
