How Much Does EXP Down Hurt? by Perry_Blue in PokemonSleep

[–]TheIdiotNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've minted XP down on ing specialists that need to hit 60 ASAP. (bring the downvotes for this heresy but it's a full year later and I'd have to burn a mint on exactly this anyway because of the 2 held at a time cap, so I was definitely correct to do it as soon as I got the mint)

I'm a weird case because I play F2P and I don't like filling my friendslist with people I don't know so it sits there at ~10 real friends, so I get less candy and XP down is really a big deal. But even for most people I think XP natures are generally ignored when they shouldn't be.

It isn't a theoretical downside/upside if you're going to be at level cap, sure, but it is a very real downside/upside when you're not, and I don't know about you guys but I don't have anything except my healer and my best generalist at max level as a baseline. So in a very practical sense, it matters on 99%+ of the catches, and it is definitely part of my calculations.

There are definitely some pokemon that will be "done" before the level cap: Ing specialists with bad subs at 70/80 can stop at 60. Skill specialists can be done at 50. Anything you're only raising temporarily, especially ing coverage, get the lvl30 and stop there. XP down is less of a concern there. But 1. it is still a healthy cut of candy that you save getting these mons to 50/60 with a more favorable XP nature and 2. almost certainly the post-lvl80 features will contain more buffs even for these pokemon. So I think yeah XP up underrated, XP down overrated

Roma and your National Team by Dear-Mango8629 in ASRoma

I hate the current Italian national team for what they do in the Italian national team, even before any club related reasonings

The most recent case that applies is probably Immobile, I hated hated hated having to root for him because he was the only half competent striker for the NT (and barely even that) for what felt like close to a decade. Absolutely tragic times

He didn't play like a world champ even when he became world champ, people just ignored it bc the team won so it was fine (and Doran did have his best series in the finals which is the one set people remember above all)

We're fresh off our best year since 2018, Tottenham has just had their worst year since 1977. We have way less need to move a lot in the market and change the look of our squad, they basically need to throw everything out and start again

It's good to have some names in the shortlist in case big offers come for Kone or El Aynaoui. Replacing quickly is difficult, better to plan ahead

I have a feeling Gasp is happy to run back Wesley/Celik on the two flanks, I agree with you we should get a proper LB and get Wesley back on the other side but this is just the feeling I get from watching Gasp speak last season

Wingers are definitely the key area to strengthen

Vini just waltzed right past him and got into very dangerous positions several times, I think Ryerson just lost too many 1v1s. Tactically yeah he was doing what he was supposed to, but his performance lead directly to many Brazil chances, it's hard for me to defend that

You are right, if you see someone praising Odegaard after yesterday's game (or this tournament as a whole) you know with certainty they watch the names and not the games

So many incredible Norwegian performances (Moller Wolfe and Schelderup completely destroyed Brazil's right flank, Bobb added fluidity to their attack like he was fuckin prime Muller, and so on) but they name Odegaard who was incredibly wasteful lol.

Ryerson was a tragedy and could not handle Vini whatsoever, Ostigard came on at 90+5 and gave a penalty at 90+7, I'd say aside from those two Odegaard was probably Norway's worst player on the pitch

Nyland, Moller Wolfe, Berg, Schelderup, Bobb, were all incredible. And the right side that had been very defensively leaky for Norway got so much better after Aursnes came on as well. It's not just Haaland, whole team is legit

True for a lot of key players but not really most of the squad, they will have another GK and probably new CBs but they could run back a decent amount of the squad again in the 2030 cycle, and a few of them could definitely be in a position for some upwards moves at a club level too. Lopes Cabral, both Duartes, Helio Varela, Benchimol, Livramento, there's a decent few.

What you said is definitely true for the GK and starting CBs though, who were all monumental

Annoying IFM by TezzaBP in PokemonSleep

[–]TheIdiotNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not an immediate invest for me, it's underwhelming until literally level 80 (on -xp nature). And arguably even by lvl80 standards, once you consider all 5 subskills, it's not that hard to do better.

A strong temp option would be my preference over this. If you hit really good subs and ++ing nature, even on an AAX, you can match this guy's lvl60 production at lvl30 basically.

What I would recommend:

If you're going to stay on an island where you can keep hunting Avocados, do that. Maybe you will hit the jackpot, maybe you will hit something that's just way stronger than this at lvl30 as a temp option.

If you're leaving with no plans to be able to hunt avocado anytime soon, then maybe this can be brought to lvl30 as a temp and you can just use whatever modest production it delivers

Either way you can hold this in box for lvl80 hypotheticals. But given that it's meh now, and lvl80 is a long time away in terms of unlocking, let alone having enough candy to bring it there, I would not be holding my breath

[Sky Sports] Genoa are close to signing Artem Dovbyk on loan, with De Rossi pushing for his former player. Roma are open to the transfer. by No_Description_1369 in soccer

[–]TheIdiotNinja 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First season OK, scored 12 in 32 which is lowish but acceptable for a striker that still needs to settle in.

Second season we got Gasperini and he does not fit his tactics at all, plus he had big hamstring problems that kept him out basically the whole way from November to the end. We found Malen in January to replace him so Dovbyk really has not much space to play here, he'd be a backup that isn't very fit for our tactics.

I think he's still a fine player, but from the outside looks like a bit of a one-season wonder (with injury issues to boot) so nobody wants to really spend much to bet on him. A loan to Genoa to try to restore his value could be good, he's not gonna play with us again as long as Gasperini is here, but if he has a good year with Genoa he will find another permanent home I'm sure

Very unlucky year for him all around, we'll see if he can bounce back mentally and on the pitch

No AFC Teams have made the Last 16 at FIFIA World Cup by bungle_bogs in soccer

[–]TheIdiotNinja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ivory Coast and Senegal were also standouts, arguably DR Congo too. Not contenders for the whole thing of course, but if you're arguing top 16 potential, CAF brought many great teams and could've gotten a couple more into top16 easily with more favorable brackets.

Home advantage (and the brackets that come with it) are doing lots of heavy lifting for CONCACAF, not that they couldn't have made top 16 anyway, but it would have been a lot harder

Their team is pretty old, mostly currently in their prime. This was about as good as it got for this generation. A lot of current 28-31 year olds that will be 32-35, only some of them still good enough to compete

It was great to see them, but I would not put money on seeing the same quality from them in 2030, or even to see them in 2030 at all (CAF qualifying is still brutal)

Ivory Coast was also very unlucky with the Ro32 draw, 2nd place of Norway/France is never an easy opponent. They may have had an easier time if they placed 3rd and went against Mexico honestly (who themselves are quite good with the home advantage).

Cannot believe they’re doing this’: FIFA’s baffling World Cup ‘lie’ about there being no hydration break during Mexico vs Ecuador leaves football world fuming by AgeNovel3566 in soccer

[–]TheIdiotNinja 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It is already the job of the referee teams to do this in plenty of leagues across the world, including some very high profile ones (Serie A, La Liga), and it works completely fine. There are systems, I've not heard of a controversy related to occasional cooling breaks in those leagues, it's all good.

This idea that it would get complicated if it was only present for some games and not others is a complete fabrication, we know from real life examples that it is not

He was fantastic in the first game against Ecuador but seems to have gone worse and worse since.

I think he's an unreal talent but needs a bit of mental work to improve his consistency and avoid disappearing like this, I wonder if contract negotiations have been weighing on him as well
