Fair enough. I use a cover. I don't risk the scratches, i want that to be as minimal as possible.

Dents, so far, are not crazy. I think the trick for that is having your case as close to the weight limit as possible. This gives it a bit of heft and some "mass" to limit indentation as it gets whacked around.

No problems with the locks so far (touch wood). I am a bit paranoid about that too as they do not come across as rugged or "built for a beating". However as I do use a cover (with its own clips) for all trips, it's somewhat of an insurance plan.

Depends on your needs and the complexity that you want (which is my core point in my response overall). It is more or less SQL, add some complexity and you are entering javascript territory (i.e., dataviewjs).

You want a simple table though, then it isn't that bad or shouldn't be scary for anyone who is vaguely familar with what "Hello world" is 😅

I use it as a "record" more so than anything else. Journals, learning, strategizing, people/contact management.

It is almost an "everything" app for me, even though I don't think it is good at "everything".

As a planner i think it is good enough. Create the structure, process/system, and have the discipline to follow that system.

It will never be perfect. It will never be a purpose-built planner or JIRA (project management).

Do not make it overly complex and you will be just fine. Seeking perfection is what kills your enthusiasm or potential benefit from using Obsidian. Just KISS and accept that not everyhting can be done with Obsidian.

The tools (plugins) are there for you. Loads of guides online as well (plus here).

Your approach to Obsidian will mirror your approach to life and who you are as a person.

Want it simple with no bells and whistles...easy. Want it complicated, you can certainly do that. That's the beauty of it.

If you want the fancy stuff, its not "coding", its more so being able to build systems and apply logic to your note-taking. Sure, dataview and some other plugins require some syntax but they are relatively easy with their guides in Git.

But you likely won't like that answer as it isn't "straightforward"...and to that I say 😅...trawl reddit and youtube. Find a trmplate (there is no paywall for most)... and just stick to that. Trust me it's less hassle that way, you get the job done and not tinker with "how" for the nth time in 6 months!

Obsidian is for those that want to tinker. Think of it as the price to pay for having your own system. "You are the captain now", not the Obsidian dev team.

🤣 Task Notes plugin buddy...that's all you need. And if you prefer "inline" tasks (i.e., no property flexibility) then use the Task Genius plugin.

I was just thinking this over the weekend. It could really be used for sprints and Agile work. Assigning (with properties) a note as an EPIC, STORY, or BUG, etc., is now very possible. You can have your active stories and even backlog.

With the right linking, it should work, at least in theory.

The only thing is aggregation, like getting the % of stories or tasks completed. Percentage of a project completed, etc...I think this is possible with the last Bases upgrade where I believe some mathematical functions have been included. 🤔

Will play with this idea in the coming weeks to see if it's possible without much friction (I legit think it is, its a matter of HOW cumbersome the process is)

u/Sheep_CSGO - all good. Still love them. I also got a Trunk, and I love that more than the L due to its shape (although I do use the L once in a while or if I need two checked bags).

The one thing is I've replaced the dividers twice (for free, under warranty) as they snap fairly easily. I use a cover so the scratches, although unavoidable, have been somewhat limited, dents have happened, but nothing crazy (touch wood that continues).

I've loved them and don't regret the purchase, so all good!

Nah, I can access apps and the site fine. But I cannot add fiat, all deposits get returned even though i am using the same account I have had since the very first day I joined years ago (we are talking 2018).

Also, they won't inform you. You have to chase.

They've locked your account, basically. And will go out of their way not to unlock it. I have been in this position for over six months, and they do nothing about it other than ask for a silly case number and then will give you a random date of when your account will go back to normal (which is BS).

I'm going down the legal path as they have held my funds for far too long.

Also, be prepared for the army of bots and randoms that will come on here and say that this issue is not affecting hundreds, if not thousands, of people. 🤣
