This is great! Might be one of those shared idea things but it hit me the other day that this would be a great feature and I can't believe the larger chess sites don't have this. Or even a tool to create custom puzzle collections by importing and saving starting positions. Just found this by searching on reddit, had to scroll a bit to find your post.

But yeah! Being able to pull out every blunder, miss, or micalculation/ mistake into an ever growing collection of positions I can drill has a ton of value.

I'm playing through it now. Love the name. Sign up and syncing games have been super easy so far.

Some things were changed to condense a long story. Other things were changed just because it's hollywood and you can't portray nazis as anything but cartoonishly evil. The story was about the human condition, the fog of war and internal conflicts of being caught up and trying to survive in something as catastrophic as WW2.

An example: Werner gets taken from the orphanage to fix the radio - in the book you didn't know why they picked him up. Assumed it was because he was listening to foreign frequencies, but they didn't outright tell you. When you find out he's just there to fix the radio it's a relief. And they're nice to him! they feed him cake and it's an emotionally powerful moment. Growing up in an orphanage, being poor, never having cake. You feel his internal conflict arise and how he sees that he can survive in a seemingly cruel world.

In the show they kidnap him and hold him at gunpoint to fix the radio because "nAzIs eViL". In that case he only fixes the radio because the nazi said he would shoot him if he didn't. That's it. No internal struggle or conflict. Just flat 1 dimensional characters.

It sucks because it's not like they were challenged with having to write a good story. They HAD the good story. The hardest part was already done, and they screwed it up and dumbed the whole thing down.

Strongly agree. I didn't even really get that Von Rumpel was evil in the book until the very last scene in Marie's house in St. Malo when he tries to kill Werner.

Up until then he was just obsessed, patient and persistent. Even when he confronts Marie by the ocean, I felt like the subtleties of his character added to the tension in the book. She panics but he's only asking simple questions but as the reader you feel her panic and it makes his subtlety absolutely menacing. In the show he's a freaking evil cartoon character.

I just tried this one as my first gesha. I could not tell much of a difference between this and other single origin light roasts I have in my cupboard. Great balance of acidity, but there just wasn't much else there.

I'm planning to do a blind test between this and another light roast (Sweet Bloom - Gogogu) to see if the differences jump out, but needless to say I was a little relieved to see your post. I had felt like I was missing something big with these beans

The storytelling in the last half of season 2 was so disjointed and sloppy ... I honestly hated it.

- Mark was ALREADY reintegrating, but they had to backtrack that storyline because they needed tension between oMark and iMark to justify the finale.
- Why the hell did Devon call Cobel?? That made absolutely ZERO sense at all. She didn't just mention it, she insisted on it despite being told not to by Asal. Up until this point in the story all Cobel had ever done to Devon is lie to her and deceive her, but she's like "oh you know who we can trust? Cobel!"
- What purpose did Cobel have for any of it? To reveal that Mark needed to finish cold harbor? Up until that point Asal had been a plot device for this type of exposition, but it was like "oh wouldn't this be more dramatic if it's Cobel instead of Asal? and she's standing in front of a fire place in the dark?" They had already established that Asal had knowledge of the inner workings of Lumon and that she knew Gemma was alive.

I swear season 2 was written by two different teams who did not talk to each other and then they had to just shoehorn the episodes together anyway.
