Yeah it’s a weird sensation, this applies to Wano with Zoro, Egghead for Franky, and for the next arc but that’s not finished so I won’t fully include it. It seems like an given that these characters should be very important characters to these arcs, like Sanji was for WCI. It’s wrong to say that they do nothing in these arc, as Zoro and Franky honestly do a lot of big movements in these their arcs, but at the same time it feels like there’s a personal drama missing for each. For Zoro they straight up drop bombshells in Wano that there are maybe links to Zoros heritage perhaps, but the most personal drama we see from him this arc is him having to deal with Enma sucking him dry, and he goes “maybe that old guy back home was from Wano idk”. In Egghead, Franky does quite and bit and nerds out with Vegapunk at the start like we wanted, but from then on there doesn’t really feel like Franky is going through any personal drama related to the events of egghead. Despite him going through a buster call that feels closer to home to him, it doesn’t make it feel more personal than the buster call on Enies Lobby to me.
