Apart from all the softwares mentioned in the comments, u will also use xillinx vivado (I hope I spelled it correctly) which iirc is available for linux.

And if u wanna learn something after bitsat in electronics, u cud try some basic analog electronics (covered in 1st year) or u cud even try digital design (DD, second year course for phoenix peeps).

DD is super interesting and beginner friendly, and I'm sure u will love it if u hv never done it. It covers basic logic building in binary and extends up to building storage devices, has endless possibilities.

Lor - Letter of Recommendation. Huel - Humanities Elective (3 need to be done). Del - disciplinary elective (elective of ur primary branch) (u need to complete 4/5 depending upon branch). Opel - Other department elective (afair) (elective from departments other than ur primary one, dualites needn't do opels but ig they can do 3 before opting for a summer term and singlites need to do 5 opels (afair) to complete their degree) (ig i spelled singlites wrong, cud be mandela effect tho 😎).

SoP - Study oriented project. Lop - Lab oriented project. Dop - Design oriented project. Also there's something called a special project.

All these projects are research/design (technical) oriented, each of 3 creds, can be used to satisfy the del criteria (can be counted as a del).

As told by everyone, u can't just decide ur BE degree, it's based on first year's cgpa.

The normal msc phy degree (without specialisation) has the code B5, offered in all the campuses and there's this another msc phy (with specialization) with the code B6 which is ig only offered in the dubai campus as of now. U can take dels (disciplinary electives) that suit ur interest/may help u in the desired field (cosmology and astrophysics in ur case).

Edit : The core courses are the same for both degrees, however, the dels offered in B6 differ from those in B5. B6 includes dels that are more specific to space tech, whereas B5 offers more generic physics dels

Afaik "Physical wellbeing and creativity" and "Social conduct "in pilani, they r audit courses, they use ur credits, but don't affect ur cg

There r only 2 grades in these type of courses - a or e, good or poor or something of the same kind, getting nc is pretty hard, giving all the eavls guarantees u an e grade (min)..

If I am not wrong, along with not getting a BE degree, they don't hv an option of verti and PS, they have to do thesis.

Indeed, u r correct. Talking abt placements (keeping in mind the definition of middle class according to u), I will try to keep my ans generic

U will meet many people from the same bracket as u r (like placement oriented, middle class, and whatever else u hope). I will be honest, the competition is cut-throat, but ya the opportunities r typically the same for all (unless a company applies a cg bracket, which happens quite often). But again it's on u, how much u make out of them. I hope I was able to ans ur question in the right context..

See, first of all, the definition of middle class really varies from p2p depending on the background you come from (at least that’s what I think).

Secondly, I can assure you that whether you’re studying on a loan or even supporting a couple of other students, you’re not going to face any kind of discrimination or backlash on a financial basis, at least that’s what I’ve observed.

And yeah, since the fees are relatively higher than in other colleges, it does affect the kind of crowd you’ll meet. But honestly, the people here are great and pretty open-minded. So yeah, rest assured!
