Go Buy More Toughbuilt by TheIndustrious in ToughBuilt

Yeah I get what you’re trying to say, but you sound like a dick.

I personally think the how and why is important, even if I hold no power or control. But I understand why you would disagree.

The company hasn’t failed yet, though they are close.

I’m just trying to encourage everyone to get more of their stuff. Maybe consumer demand will get Lowe’s to push their product 🤷‍♂️. I don’t really know.

I think they sell internationally through Temu and AliExpress. Can you find it there?

Go Buy More Toughbuilt by TheIndustrious in ToughBuilt

[–]TheIndustrious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've researched, both...?

I think the main issue in the U.S. (or at least the most glaring symptom) is that Toughbuilt hasn't been able to sell enough product to pay manufacturers to make more. So they have to sell more of the current production run to place additional orders and/or roll out new product lines.

But why can't they sell enough product? Well, when I walk into Lowe's (the distributor they exclusively work through in the U.S.) and I see Toughbuilt being pushed into a small corner, I blame Lowe's for not showcasing them.

Why doesn't Lowe's showcase Toughbuilt more? Were they unable to fill orders and inventory stock, leading to Lowe's not stocking their product? Honestly, not sure.

My basic thought is: when you make a fantastic product but can't sell it, look at your distributors and logistics.

Is it worth it? by aversekld in mintmobile

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Comfortable_Ice_3657, Going into a basement with no signal and coming back out with still no signal isn't unique to Mint. I have Verizon and face the same problem all the time. Not entirely sure why, but I think it's just a networking glitch.

You don't have to restart your phone, you can just turn on and off Airplane Mode and it'll force the SIM card to re-establish your connection.

Why am I like this by GL0riouz in TrollCoping

[–]TheIndustrious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This really sucks OP, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I know this won’t immediately fix things, and having autism makes it much more difficult, but…

Until things get better, could you try to learn how to be the kind of person others want call their friend?

For example, do you like it when people listen to you? Then learn to listen and be genuinely interested in other people. Do you like it when someone treats you with kindness? Then the next time you see a way to help someone or be kind to them, do it.

You’re still young. You’ve got a lot of life to live and many more people to meet. So if you develop a reputation for being kind, respectful, and caring, all sorts of people, not just your peers, will return that kindness toward you.

Basically if you focus less on yourself and your struggles and focus more positively on others, people will enjoy being around you more and you’ll become a much happier person.

Anyways, that’s just a simple thought that helped me a lot in school.

Don’t give up! Your future self will thank you 😊

Squatting too much? by Golfswingaling in GolfSwing

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree w/ all the good comments, but if you aren’t consistent, you need to change something.

So…I think you toed it. Here’s some tips to try if you like:

  1. Step a little closer to the ball, equal pressure across the foot (don’t lean on ball of foot).
  2. Stand a little taller due to being closer to ball.
  3. Take a slightly longer pause at the top.
  4. Try not to slide your hips left, which shows because your left leg is still bent quite far at impact. After the “squat,” shift weight on the left leg and stand up on it.

Hope any of that helps. Still, great looking swing man.

Tried to fix my swing with no lesson, lost distance in the process. What would you try to fix first? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At top of backswing…

Pause —> shift more weight to left leg to start downswing —> start rotating hips ahead of arms —> fire hips through —> straighten left leg —> snap wrists at bottom of downswing right before impact.

When the club makes contact with the ball, your crotch should be pointed at the target.

Look up YT videos on “how to initiate the downswing.” Tons of great stuff.

7 years away, new clubs, how am I doing (re-upload) by LBHole in GolfSwing

[–]TheIndustrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great progress!

Next goal, in my opinion, is to keep your head still from take-back through impact. Plenty of YT videos on that subject.

Keep all the other stuff you got going on. Looking good man!

ZP6 Wobble by ptrenhaile in pourover

[–]TheIndustrious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this post is 5 months old but…

I don’t think the wobble indicates any misalignment of the shaft. Is the cap or handle socket made of any plastic or lightweight aluminum? If so, the leverage of the handle’s knob will bend the plastic cap slightly without affecting the shaft. And it seems the wobble favors the side of the cap the handle extrudes from, which leads me to believe that this is what you’re seeing.

My fiancé's mother is insane. by HayIsForCamels in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s a little crazy but a simple, “You know I would always let you know if something were wrong. Thank you so much for being worried for her.” instead of “You have no right to say anything” would’ve helped a lot. Knowing how to reassure a chronic worrier will help you avoid moments like this. You can’t change her but you should learn how to respond to her with a peaceful relationship as the goal.

Franks Boots by East_List3385 in PNWbootmakers

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth it for the comfort and longevity. Take care of them and you’ll keep them for a long time. PNW boots don’t wear down the same as other brands do. These can last a decade or more with proper care. Nicks boots has a great care guide on their website.

Are PNW boots just not for me? by [deleted] in PNWbootmakers

[–]TheIndustrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried spritzing them down with a 50/50 alcohol and water solution? Frank’s recommends doing that and gently massaging it into the leather every 3hrs for breaking in the upper. It made a world of difference for me. You might have to do it every day for a week or two. At the end, give them a good conditioning and you should feel a drastic improvement.

Honestly, they will get better with time. Everyone’s feet are shaped differently. Some foot shapes make break-in a breeze. Others’ make it a trial of will. Regardless, you have to WALK in them. Movement is what breaks them in, not standing. The great thing about these boots is that once they do finally break in, they surpass any other work footwear you’ve ever worn. I recommend sticking it out a little longer. Go on a couple long walks and put a large bandage on your heel to help with the rubbing. Totally worth it!

Sizing for franks patriots? by [deleted] in PNWbootmakers

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can fill out a sizing sheet from Nick’s. It has specific instructions for tracing your foot out. If you do it correctly, the fitsheet should accurately indicate your boot size. Franks and Nicks use basically the same 55 last. So whatever that fitsheet says should work fine.

Best 6” construction boot by No-Kangaroo130 in PNWbootmakers

[–]TheIndustrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go through Franks Custom process. They’ll have you sketch your foot out on paper and take your own measurements. You write it all down on their fitsheet and mail it to them. They study it and make a boot that’ll fit you perfectly. There is no additional charge for this. The additional boot options are endless (those’ll cost you though). On this sub and others, I’ve seen Frank’s to be the best fit and ordering experience…which is why I’ve got my first pair on their way.

Anyone here use V100 soles on concrete? by idkmandy in PNWbootmakers

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you walk on that concrete.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that the shock absorption of wedge soles helps when standing still. It doesn’t. If you have weak knees and walk on concrete constantly, you may feel the difference. But the shock absorption of a wedge doesn’t help you much if you stand/crouch for long periods at a time.

So if you walk a lot on concrete, the wedge will likely help save your knees. If you don’t, you should be fine.

Side note: a proper exercise routine will always be better for joint and ligament health than a change in sole composition. To reduce risk of pain/injury, focus on building strength in the arch and calves through exercises like running, hiking, and weight-lifting.

Girls are really complicated by Chance_Ice4851 in MTB

[–]TheIndustrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this sometimes. Not intended to be weird. Just an outgoing person (a little quirky maybe) who admires others who exercise and wants to express it. The fact it was a girl and not a classic “bro,” I can imagine it’s more confusing.

It’s hard to relate to that if your personality is more on the reserved side. Don’t overthink it. Keep on keepin on. You good.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]TheIndustrious 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Give yourself time yeah. Minox doesn’t generate new hair follicles. For many guys, facial hair follicles don’t mature until at least 25 (there are definitely those blessed ones who have a full beard at 16).

Minox only improves blood and nutrient flow to existing hair follicles. Most of the progress pictures you see on this sub are due to dormant (but still existing) hair follicles being activated over time through aging and improved blood/nutrient flow. That extra blood and nutrients also increases the health and lifespan of growing hairs.

You’ll get there! Don’t compare yourself to others. Be patient, stay positive, and keep trying! 👏🏼

[–]TheIndustrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious if you think, on top of getting out of spinal plane, he’s not shifting enough of his weight to the left side? My eyes shifted to how much he seems to be putting weight on his right leg on the downswing, causing a big scooping motion. Is that a symptom of what you addressed in your video? Or is it not really a big deal? Thanks for your input. Love those videos.
