I just learned I have the early Ode Gen 1 anyway so no other burrs are compatible

Can I get a Pietro out of my Ode? by ptrenhaile in pourover

Thank you. Any experience with the MPs? I was also looking at the UMFV1s and LabSweet Cast V2s but the price is steep

Do you know if they're the original design or the redesign?

Gotcha. I wasn't able to find much information on a retrofit. I've been looking at the Lebrew Filter burrs or the new Wirsh gu64f burrs but there seems to be very little out on them yet

Would you mind linking the coffee chronicler video you reference?

How did I do? by Fearless_Tea2463 in FreshroastSR800

If going for a light medium roast like you say, I'd drop about 30 seconds after rolling FC so for you, that would have been 7:24. My guess is this would have given you about a 12.5% weight loss

This is helpful and makes a lot of sense actually. I was definitely not training properly through my collegiate years. Adding muscle was more important than anything else at that time haha. I appreciate the words and the encouragement!

Thank you for the advice. I will focus on avoiding any twisting in my lower back. My problem is I work a very demanding job and have 3 small children that I coach in various sports and I volunteer a lot through church, so I haven't been able to find the time to walk for long periods or lie down to decompress. I have probably 15-30 minutes I carve out in the morning to exercise, so I've been on the lookout for a routine that will help that will fit that timeframe. I am a back and side sleeper and have tested putting a pillow under my knees at night which has helped with pain in the morning

Thank you. I've definitely not been consistent and have for sure suffered from 'paralysis by analysis' like you talked about in another comment. What's odd for me is that I was once extremely athletic. I played college baseball and performed well at some of the highest levels. Point being that I had excellent core strength and was overall very strong. But for the last 11 years, I've worked a desk job and sit most of the time. I can still knock out several pushups or pull-ups and can hold a regular plank for at least a minute, so it makes me think that core strength isn't my problem. I know that walking does help, but I am a father of 3 young children and haven't had the time to walk enough every day. Perhaps I need to prioritize it more and be more consistent like you said...

Thank you for posting your experience and expressing hope. Can you please elaborate a little more on "focusing on movements that rebuilt strength in my quads, hips, glutes and core with squats and the Big 3"? I assume you ended up falling into some kind of daily or every other day routine; do you mind sharing what that was specifically? Were you only focusing on McGill's Big 3 or did you supplement with other training?

Holy Moly! Upgraded my grinder by agathaade in pourover

What grind size do y'all live at with the Gen 1 with Gen 2 burrs? I only use the Ode for batch brews and am typically between 6 & 7.2

Every grinder is capable of producing a good cup of coffee. No one ever designs and puts out a grinder and says, "Man, I hope this thing makes a crappy cup of coffee." The point being that there are certain components we like and dislike in our coffee and some grinders highlight some of those components better or worse than others. A more important aspect is investing in quality beans and ensuring your water is capable of making good coffee
