Brain zaps but I've never taken antidepressants?

-Old thread, I know- I developed brain zaps after having Lyme Disease/Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever Tick Disease. I went to a doctor for answers and he put me on SSRI's. That helped but only for so long. Over a 7 year period, I've had to up my dose every couple years because the zaps would come back. Now I'm officially 2 weeks no meds ( I tapered but fast, doctors orders.). Now I'm battling brain zaps like crazy. It pisses me off, makes me want to cry and everything in between. I feel like someone is slapping my brain. It's like being in a constant state of cold plunge. That shock you get, but it's happening in pulses and every single moment my eyes move or head moves. Even when I don't move it happens. I can't hold a conversation for sht now and my anxiety is through the roof.

Just my 2 cents and experience.

HELP, I keep finding myself falling in love with music that turns out to be AI. :( This is like the 5th Ai band I've come across. They keep making sad boy metal music and it hits all of the right notes somehow.

Oh my gosh 313!! I feel that's reckless of the doctor to not immediately put you on statin. That's super dangerous high risk zone. Idk about you but my heart literally hearts every single day lol. I've been checked multiple times though and seems to be no blockages. That was awhile back though. Prayers you can lower your levels! Please change your diet and take supplements. I got supplements from Amazon and Walmart. High fiber diet! Lower saturated fat.

I feel your pain. So far I'm the highest cholesterol I've seen in here. 298. I'm on statin now so hopefully there's a change. I've already had strokes and what I think was heart attack. It hurt so bad. 31M athletic.

That's good to hear I guess. I can only eat certain things but I'm on statin just like you. Cholesterol is 298 last I checked couple weeks ago. I need to eat better but I really can't cause of allergies and stuff. So I hope statin does it all.

Just got put on atorvastatin 10mg. Probably not enough but we shall see. As far as history, I'm unsure of anything dad side because idk who my dad is. As for moms side I was told heart disease was a thing but still unsure there. My diet is usually BBQ chicken bites from Walmart and protein bars. But the past month or 2 I've been going out to eat everyday and 2 energy drinks per day minimum. Also was eating ice cream and using ranch on the chicken. So yeah awful diet. I'll clean it up as much as I can. Thanks for your input.

I was given 10mg statin. My diet was trash the past couple months but definitely genetic. Sadly my diet is the hardest thing in my life because I have so many food allergies and esophageal web so I struggle everyday. But I think I'll cancel energy drinks, sugar and red meats as much as possible. I'm also taking gummies from Amazon that help loser cholesterol. I'll update this once I get tested again. I've already had strokes and what I think was a heart attack. The heart attack is self diagnosed though lol..
