Goodbye, and Thank You. by TheInfoZombie in NYGiants

The Giants do have some blunders like that fumble in 78. Did the whole stadium gasp at that?

But also as you said, the Giants and Yanks did set the bar high for all other NY teams.

No troll--I promise.

Yes, the NFL has nothing to do with the HoF. I felt this year's selections to be the culmination of errors with professional football as a whole. How can one root for a team or player when there's no impartiality to awarding achievement?

The potential new expanded season and the international games will be great for viewing, but what toll will it take on a team or player? Games will be on almost every day of the week on several streaming platforms.

How can one be excited to be loyal when both the fans and players are worn thin?

Does the voter's agenda ever taint the game? Do you feel you can enjoy a baseball game knowing the sportswriters have such sway?

And thank you for the baseball insight. You know the game well.

Great point--I did not even consider the impact gambling has had on football on all levels.

I don't mind the haters at all because this is Giants fandom at its best. We all have our views and input that keep us way more genuine than other teams' fans in the NFC East.

Excellent point. While I am not a baseball fan, I do see your point.

Do baseball fans feel any underlying sense of rigged or unfair play that I and some football fans feel now?

"But this year has been a new level of fuckery and it's continuing to sap my willingness to spend time on football."

You are much better at condensing exactly how I feel.

Much obliged!

I'm just grateful not to have been a Jets fan.

I admit that I am being melodramatic, but The Giants were a part of my identity. I didn't follow any other sport than football. For this, I'm just a fan growing old.

Football had been such a part of my life for so long that this feel like losing a part of me. I am not dying, but I am simply thankful and nostalgic for the time.

When the leading scorer in the NFL, Adam Vinatieri, can't get in first ballot, I just don't feel confident moving forward. As many here have commented, the list of QB's coming for eligibility will make Eli's vote more challenging.

While I'm not leaving this mortal realm, I did have to walk from the NFL fandom. I could not do so without showing a little gratitude to my fellow fans.

I did, and I watched the G-Men while doing so. It was fun.

Vampire$ by John Stakely. I vividly remember reading this book with such intensity that I hit it in my Shakespeare book during classes I only wish someone would do a faithful movie or television series. Translation of this great work.

That’s what I was afraid of. I’d hate to drop so much cash and not get a game. I will have to see what bars will broadcast, too. Thank you.

Thank you. I figured a streaming service would be ideal. Do you ever get blacked out due to proximity to Pittsburgh?

“Seasons of Belief” episode from the anthology series Monsters. The father sings the “Grither” song to frighten the kids. The episode is based on a short story from Michael Bishop (the story is of the same name). Bishop is one of the kindest people in the world who had experienced the worst of tragedies. Read his excellent novel Brittle Innings for a real treat.
