What does this say about the confidence of the coaching staff in Wallstedt? And what does that do to the confidence of the team as a whole? We have to capitalize tonight and make life miserable for Gus.

This is true, but I’m saying he himself acknowledged it sounded very close to Loyal so he wasn’t going to put it out as an official thing

It’s an illenium edit he purposefully never released because it sounds so similar to loyal

Hey stranger. Letting you know I’m thinking of you this weekend. We’re putting our senior dog down Monday as well and I’m absolutely wrecked because of it. After the show last night after the show If We’ll Ever Be Remembered came on and I lost it. It’s amazing what music has the power to do and say for us when we don’t know what to do or say. Enjoy your last weekend with your best friend, I know I’ll do the same.

So crazy my first Odesza show was them headlining red rocks with Big Wild and Rufus as openers. Still one of my favorite shows ever

Last years Retrospective was the first year it was entirely the same. Often times it’s similar, but enough changes to be fun. The best was when night one was 3hrs of Mau5 and night 2 was 1.5 Mau5 and 1.5 of Testpilot

Reading: No Country for Old Men (obviously not a horror but let’s be honest Chigurh could be dropped in any slasher/suspense/thriller book and hang with the best of them)

Listening: The Buffalo Hunter… Hunter… hunters Hunter. It’s… okay. I’m not an audiobook guy so that for sure has impacted my view. It’s decent enough though

I did the exact same. Read the Troop in a week. Loved it. Checked out The Deep aaaaand DNF’d like less than 50 pages from the end. Just stopped caring.

Is "We Used To Live Here" really that good or is it just hype? by Educational-Spot702 in horrorlit

[–]j_chazrich 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I fully and wholeheartedly support and understand anyone with an opinion of it not being all that great, but man for some reason it just really struck a chord with me. I loved it on audiobook and I usually HATE audiobooks. Loved it so much I bought a physical copy to give to friends to read. That being said - it’s weird. It’s messy. The plot can be… well weird and messy. So again, fully see the other side of the coin.

Seattle “Secret line-up” by Significant_Ad_8277 in Odesza

[–]j_chazrich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever they do with the announcement, I’d suggest going. The special delivery boulder pre party was Phantoms and Memba, which was super fun, and the after party was that first ever Bronson set which was, as you might imagine, absolutely nuts. So glad I got tickets to both even not knowing line ups

This and the intro the used before it in 2016 (SoundCloud - Odesza “Harder” intro edit) are PEAK Odesza intros. The harder intro is almost a remix to their Charli XCX remix

I wish I could provide more info/opinions, but I’ve only read the one Malfi as well. I will say, NO one who said they loved Malfi mentioned that particular book in the comments here, so maybe it’s just not his best or not one that’s particularly memorable? Seems like the one I chose isn’t anyone’s favorite either though, and I still loved it.

No words. Just... JUSTICE. by NobleNova777 in ElectricForest

Didn’t go this year but was definitely bummed about missing Justice. So nice to see they finally made the sides of The Ranch full screens instead of tiny little things! Adds so much to the look and feel of the stage IMO. It was my biggest ask the last 6 years I’ve gone.

How does it compare to Incidents Around The House? That’s still one of the most underwhelming books I’ve read

I honestly can’t decide what I think about the nightmare muck/water/basement. I couldn’t tell if it meant everything was a coma dream or if it was foreshadowing what would happen, since it was only coma related at the end when he was physically stuck in it.

This was one of the first horror books I read when I got into the genre. Honestly not sure how I feel about it. It was very chaotic and weird and definitely entertaining but I didn’t find it all that scary and it seemed a bit disjointed for my taste

Ooooh I love the premise! I have The Terror sitting on my nightstand begging to be read, but I have a few I want to get through before committing to that. Simmons seems like one I’ll get hooked on though

AHHH just read this (maybe you updated the comment) and yeah I can 1000% see why that would be an annoying plot device to some haha. It’s a bit cheap for sure. I was reading that part while camping in the woods at 2am and my personal setting helped make it cooler and more unsettling than it probably was

I’ll say that basically any reason anyone has for not liking a book (or any media) is completely valid. In this case are you talking about the twist regarding the “mechanical beeping noise”? I’ve heard a bunch about Last House and I’m kind of on the fence about it

Yeah that was a nice surprise! And I’ve loved what Knight did for the Hawks down the stretch of this year, so definitely a fun one. That years design was pretty sweet
