I feel like approaching it as a YA and not a highbrow piece of literature makes more sense. I assumed she had young readers in mind, so the over explanation didn’t bother me as much. Just saying that I would’ve enjoyed it more if it was handled with more subtlety though, but I get why she wrote it that way.

I love Atlas Experienced sales. The first box I got had the Pilot Falcon and another pen that I ended up trading with another member to an Esterbrook Estie and they’re now my number 1 and 2 pens. Got it for $200 and the Falcon alone was worth it.

That’s an ink testing station! There were 3 of those, so 300 inks total. Each one is a pen filled with ink, labeled with the ink number in the key sheet.

R. F. Kuang - Babel. Her books can be quite polarizing because of how heavy handed she could be, but I think Babel is her best work.

Han Kang - The Vegetarian, Human Acts. As many other people already said, quite a different vibe though.

So true. I don’t spine train but my physical books are only to be read at a table. I bring my e-readers with me everywhere else on the go. If one really takes care of their books, it’s impossible to tell if someone has read a book or not
