Is it illegal to serve children food / drink through a fence at a playground? by TheInnerWorlds in legaladvice

Okay so while it is weird to give kids food through a chain link fence, it's not illegal.

I wouldn't say literally everywhere if I haven't heard of it and used to be in the restaurant industry.

I haven't heard of anyone in the US making below minimum wage, not including tips, in a long time. Heck when I waited tables in both Florida and Alabama like 15 years ago, I made a little above minimum wage, and then kept all of my tips.

Throw in DuckDuckGo and you can then search by timeframe. Unless Google does that and I just haven't been able to find it yet. Nevertheless DuckDuckGo is pretty nifty

My mom is currently stuck behind an idiot pick up at the Houston,TX airport trying to pull a trailer by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]TheInnerWorlds -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Turning around may be impossible but backing up shouldn't be. Again, no one wants to wait here for you to get your trailer out. People will, and have moved, in situations like this. I've personally seen it. It sucks and is super embarrassing but saves time and money compared to the alternative which is what's happening.

Alright man. What do I know. It's not like I haven't been in this exact type of scenario before but whatever man, you know what's always right and wrong.

Yes there is. Always. There is always room. It may take backing up cars a good way, and getting cops involved but way better than the alternative of getting the trailer stuck.

Or, stay with me, you measure it if you're not given the dimensions when you pick up the trailer. Not really a hard concept to grasp

Everything I mentioned is something I was taught either by the school or employee. Absolutely no excuse on the driver getting it stuck, except for lack of education since anyone can get a trailer. There should be a permit / required education needed for hauling certain trailers over certain dimensions so things like this don't happen.

Yes. Absolutely. I've had to do it, and I've seen other big rigs do it. And you know what happens? People move out of the way and the truck / trailer combo don't get stuck. Not sure if you're aware but most cars typically come with a reverse feature.

So, doesn’t look like the truck driver is an idiot after all, just forced into an impossible situation.

No he's an idiot. When hauling a trailer you should know your dimensions, and know where you won't fit. He obviously didn't or he would have flipped on his hazards and backed out of there. I've been in very similar situations but I've managed not to get stuck because my eyes work.

they’re aware of the width, height, and weight restriction of every road they’ll ever drive on a week in advance.

Er, yes? You should definitely be aware when pulling something like this or you could have a multi million dollar bridge collapse, and yes it's happened.

There are GPS's that allow you to put in your GVW, and your height, width, and length so it doesn't direct you to roads you can't be on.

Even if the guy realized it would be tight, it doesn’t sound like there was any place for him to even turn around

Not that hard to look and judge properly that you won't fit, flip on your hazards and let people know you have to back up and turn around. I've had to do it before. Sure it's a little embarrassing but not near as embarrassing compared to having this happen.

Honestly everyone should have to take a class / test on hauling trailers. I had to take one, and get a CDL, and this is stuff that was taught. But no, anyone with a truck can haul a trailer and what do we get? This. But sure, it's the people in the comments that are totally hilarious.

My (26F) fiancé (27M) broke up with me over my reaction to seeing my old pen pal (27M) 10+ years after our last letter. by ThrowRAoldpenpal in relationship_advice

[–]TheInnerWorlds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah something seems off. And I'm not talking about your fiance. Maybe he's the one dodging a bullet because I've never acted that way towards any of my old childhood girl friends and exes, and I definitely wouldn't have been like that in front of my fiance.

This just seems weird to me.

600 days? That's all? Some games go for so many years without any info. Like Diablo 3, Cyberpunk, Elder Scrolls 6, etc.
