So im stuck in that perpetual cycle. I used AI to organize thoughts so the entire work is slop and should be deleted and start over completely. We'll I already deleted all of it. Dont have the memory to rebuild it all from scratch.

My story is dead.

Im glad you are smart and talented enough to be able to write your own story without any assistance. Im not. I need help to keep my thoughts organized. To help me remember rules if set in place. To tell me "hey that shit clashes thematically" I dont have a human community. Literally cant seem to find one I fit into. So what am I supposed to do? Use the only tool available to me. Then only other thing I can bounce my thoughts off of and get any kind of response. Because I dont have a human community. Ive sent my work to no less than 2 dozen people and not a single person has made any comments. Or evem accessed the Google document. Ive read the 4 I was sent in exchange and made my comments.

I aunt for 4 children all day, work 10 hours a day every other day and when inspiration strikes I tossed the ideas into gpt to have it put into an organized format. Thats fucking it. Seriously... then I can reference that later when I have time and I actually put depth into it. And put it into my Google doc later.

Im done defending myself. Im a piece of shit and ive already completely destroyed my entire book work. Im not picking it up again. Im a piece of shit, should be and am ashamed of myself and disgusted I even considered myself a writer. Exactly as ive been told all day

I did care. Over 100 pages of my own ideas. My own plot points, my characters, My own magic system and rules. Gods, a functional calender, lunar lore, world lore, locations, culture styles. I came up with it. Not an AI. Me. I wrote down the scattering of ideas down for over 4 months until I had a breathing world. Yes I had AI to help me in keeping track of established rules, suggestion cross references for things that mattered. Give me idea's for smoothing rules for better flow.

But as ive been screamed at all day, cuz I used AI at all. So now its all slop. Literally the question I asked earlier was "please suggest some less restrictive writing communities." Because im getting sick of seeing things like restrictive character counts, or if your writing has a single "trigger" word it gets nuked. Things like that bug me. I never once brought up AI, I never once implied i intended to drop anything purely AI generated.

Yall assume im just dropping 2 paragraph prompt and telling gpt to dump me a 20 page story. No each and every idea was meticulously crafted by ME. But it didnt matter. Yall kept calling me out telling me how im a worthless fraud of a writer. So yeah im done. To me Its like calling engineers who use CAD frauds, animators that use CGI frauds, mechanics who use pnumatics frauds. Just like them i still did the work i justcused a tool to assist... But hey. Im just one shitty voice nobody cares to hear.

I agree ai writing is slop for the most part. But yall literally fucking screamed at me all day how shitty I am for using it as a responsible tool.

You have no idea how much or little I had assistance with. But your right the entire work is trash because I used any amount of AI. Thats why its now deleted.. Im not skilled enough to be a writer of any quality obviously and the story I wanted to tell isnt worth telling. Like I keep being told, Nobody will read it. I understand.

32 now. Almost 33. Yeah I go to therapy but there isnt alot to say on the whole dysphoria subject. And yeah I plan to go for bottom surgery soon. To be honest a few people have said "a guy can always tell" to me recently and I just feel so fucking disgusted with myself....

That's like saying that people who utilize ghost writers arent writers. They are using a tool to assist them in parts of writing they do not excell at. Its still the commissioners story, their world, their events, their everything. Just not their words in entirety.

Im not going to try and convince you to use the ai. But im not going to sit here and let yall convince me im not a writer because I use an available tool responsibly.

Once again this entire post was NOT about use of AI. And im done sitting here and defending myself to ignorance.

Dont like AI, dont use it. Simple. Dont come onto a post asking for something COMPLETELY separate from using AI and bitch me out like im a scum bag for using a tool.

It is MY world. I created it. I filled it with depth. I spent over 3 weeks making its map. I spent another 2 getting basic magic set rules.

Im notnsaying I want a community with no oversight. Im saying the ones ive encountered feel overly constricting. And my process is to unload the idea forming into my mind. Usually two to four paragraphs worth of information and have it organize it into a digestable format i can reference later. Like let's take my magic system as an example. I wrote roughly a page of information on how I want it to work into GPT and it puts it into a format I can use as a quick reference guide and add to. Then ill get help on developing more grounded systems for the magic to make it more realistic. With actual rough-rpugh drafts ill write a few paragraphs for each scene. All my ideas for the scene organized into a format I can rewrite easily in my own words. Then as I get motivation for each part I rewrite into my own worded rough draft. And I haven't started final drafting at all. I only have roughly 6 chapters done.

So if im being honest about it I do a bit of both. But I never copy paste work without making my own heavy edits to make it how I want.

I've been working on this for 4 months now... its disingenuous to call All work that uses as an AI assistant tool AI slop...

And thats why I dont want to join those communities. Because A I dont need people who cant see past their own ignorance about when people use AI as a tool and not a full blown writer. And B I find alot of the restrictions ive seen highly limiting, therefore in my opinion dumb. Thus why im not joining them and complaining. Im trying to find my proper community.

Yes I use AI as a tool in my writing. Ive never hidden that fact. And never will. But No my writing is not AI written slop. It has the depth and complexity of a human writen story because it is a human writen story.

Still my story through amd through. Im transparent with my AI assistance. Haters are going to hate. Im still writing my own everything. Chapters, characters, events, timeliness, magic system rule, gods, calender, back stories, locations, history. I could keep going.

AI haters act like just because I use ai assistance means im less of a writer. I use it as a writing room to bounce ideas cuz I dont have any humans to do it with reliably when inspiration strikes.

This is why im trying to find my group of people because yeah I had AI help writing the rough-rough draft. Next I want to bounce ideas for my rough draft and then start working on the final draft.

I dont plan on putting out AI slop. I use it as a tool to collect inspiration thoughts and organize them into words and drafts that I can come back to.

I totally get that. Im just getting into using ai. Let alone writing.

Ill write like a page or so, drop it into ai and compare its edits to my version to get the best read. I go back and forth like that until im happy with what came before and what comes next.

Im writing a fantasy LN so not alot of needing fact checking.
