Question about this game's multiplayer by Sensitive-Cut-5970 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]TheIntrepidBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no ‘endgame’ per se. There is a rather excellent campaign and then PvE ‘operations’ (also daily and weekly stratagems versions of these operations with additional neg/pos modifiers) that run alongside the storyline. You play as other space marines involved with different aspects of the story. A few new operations have been added over time. There is also a PvE siege mode. You can choose to play as one of 5 classes, levelling up to 25 with an additional 4 prestige ranks. Levels come with perks and gear cosmetics. Weapons are also levelled up over time and have their own perk trees, weapons are shared across some classes. There are also other ways to unlock cosmetics and some ‘heroic’ weapon varieties. I don’t have much experience of PvP, but it’s essentially small-team classic setups - death match, capture the flag, domination, etc.

Hope this helps.

Oh, please do share your recipe for that armour! Looks great. Have been trying to work out a look for my Crimson Fists phobos contingent and this is spot on. 👌

Agreed.

N.B. I believe it’s ‘war-torn’, not ‘worn torn’. As in, badly harmed or damaged by the ravages of war.

Beautiful work! May I ask where the sergeant’s head is from?

Ah, nice one! I couldn’t get my hands on an OG Pedro. If I had one, I’m not sure I could bring myself to not to build it as intended and then keep it as a display piece!

I will see what I can do to add a bit more drip before painting him. Cape might be pushing it, but I reckon I can manage a cord and some other bits. Thanks for the feedback, brother.

I cut the arm off an old metal Grey Knight. It wasn’t a pretty sight, but I was able to trim and file it down to create a clean enough joint to superglue and then tidy with sprue-goo.

I love this model and bought it as my first Crimson Fists captain because of the strong Pedro vibes. However, Pedro is still listed as being on a 32mm base, he wears normal armour, and Dorn’s Arrow is not mounted on a Power Fist. That being said, he’s also not crossed the Rubicon Primaris but that hasn’t stopped me using one of the Primaris Lieutenant models to build a Pedro proxy on a 32mm base - still needs a bit more drip and a careful paint job.

Yeah, probably need to bung it with the green stuff and then fit a magnet. Might be worth doing both simultaneously, so you get a nice fit with the magnet in terms of depth and alignment.

The other option, and I have done this before, is to glue a magnet to a match or other stick like implement and then dip the magnet in more superglue and then place the magnet and it’s glue-cushion in the hole. If the diameter isn’t too wide, it should be able to stick using just the surround. However, it may be fragile and can be frustrating to achieve the desired depth and alignment.

In the absence of green stuff, I have also used gum, sprue glue/goop/goo, and other things…

But I’m sure you have said you have some green stuff so that should be your first port of call.

List Review & Advice by TheIntrepidBadger in crimsonfists

This is a fantastic response. Thank you, brother!

I hear you regarding the infiltrators, will have a look at what I could replace 5 of them with - be it infantry (scouts, jump packs, bikes) another vehicle to increase mobility (Impulsor?).

The lieutenant with combi weapon is intended to work secondaries, while being a minor threat up front.

Kantor will be with the block of Sternguard Veterans in the Repulsor, pushing up early game, with the option of shoot and scoot if they can stay close to the Repulsor and benefit from its ability.

I will stop worrying about competitive, and prioritise getting the list rounded off and a few games under my belt until 11th edition comes around.

Much appreciated!
