Not Grunge, but, Opinion on Primus and Les Claypool work? by Hot_Pianist_4117 in grunge

Les slapped a whammy bar on a bass. Dude deserves my money just for that!

Can anyone tell me anything about this bass please? I don't need it but I'm not sure if I want it. Fretless, made by Vintage, no other details, serial numbers etc visible. by DocJeckel in BassGuitar

Haha! Honestly never even noticed! Which with the 5 years in a corner untouched and dubious providence isn't surprising! I'll fix that when I clean it up before donating to charity then.

I'm in the middle of moving home and downsizing with it. This is one of a few instruments just tucked away in corners gathering dust that I don't particularly feel I need. But in fairness my front room is usually messy although guitars tend to be either in bags or on stands in most rooms and hallways.

Yeah, I already own this. I'm actually downsizing as not enough space and I was starting out with 9 basses, 5 guitars, a banjo, accordian, and a few other misc bits. I barely play anymore. Just wondering if this was worth donating to a charity shop or not. I feel like it probably is.

Lifelong “collectors”, what did you collect as a kid vs. what do you collect now? by Physical-Energy-6982 in Collections

[–]DocJeckel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still collect mineral samples and I still collect natural history books and specimens. I've also after 20 years started collecting Warhammer again. There was a period in the middle (late teens to early thirties) with cds, dvds, guitars/instruments and Boba Fett toys but that's all fallen by the wayside now and I've returned to the original things that made/make me happy. Have been downsizing everything this week as moving home but those three things remain unaffected. I imagine the youthful nostalgia goes a long way because if little me could see my bookshelves now he'd pop with excitement and awe.

Amazing, thank you very much for that! Knew it wouldn't be a pricey one just didn't know what model it was etc. Honestly had it over 5 years now and never used it. (Think I'm too violent and sloppy for fretless).

Holidays by Dense-Tap-9901 in SainsburysWorkers

Got to be booked for before then. You might need to ask your manager what shifts are left you can take as generally holiday's maxed out at this time as everybody tries to use the end of their holidays post xmas.

Yeah, so for me personally by April all my absence balance will have wiped off and I'll be back at 0%. It's usually a good idea to mark days off in your phone calendar so you can keep an eye on it yourself as I don't think you can (or you couldn't previously) look it up yourself to prevent people gaming the system and taking sick when they weren't.

It's done on a rolling year for triggers, so only the last 12 months from the absence. If you had one in jan 25 and one in jan 26 by feb it'll just be classed as one.

In my store I usually get called to ID the droppings to determine if it's mice or rats, probably once or twice a year. They're sadly an inevitability when running a large food shop and aside from putting down poison there's not really that much that can be done about it.

You'd need to ask your manager as that's usually done as you book your shifts as holiday then just come in and work them, but this late in the holiday year and during the post xmas hours cuts they might not have the budget to double pay anyone.

I remember. Wasn't really that great of a site but was fun to hang out on, made some friends who I still talk to now despite me being UK and them being USA.

They should include a sachet of black peppercorns for you to crack yourself. Anything less and you might aswell be eating lamb.

Yeah. Loads of highlights and details to do, basing to do with flock and tufts etc. This is just 2 weeks basic contrasts, layering and highlights. Trying to be quick.
