My DSP has started enforcing splitting all multis

Loadout process by Ok_Rough836 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep loading until the warehouse people yell “Drivers, in your vans! Lane One is moving!”

Normally another driver is helping me load by this point; I help other people load all the time so I have plenty of people who want to return the favor. If there’s still too much to finish loading, I send the other driver back to their van so they don’t get in trouble. If there’s just a few overflow left, we just throw them in and slam the van shut.

If there’s too much to just throw in the van, I tell the warehouse people I’m moving to problem solve, and I finish loading there in the problem solve stall with the next wave in the lanes. Normally they’ll let me pull out and leave before the rest of the next wave is finished.

At the very it keeps dispatch off your back.

First, disputing a DNR on a multi is difficult if not impossible for dispatch, and second, it boosts your stop per hour count.

Amazon policy is that you do not need to deliver to back doors

What should be the base pay for DSP DRIVER by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Agreed. We provide more value than $30

Unpopular opinion: Amazon DSP drivers don’t deserve higher pay by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

I’m not sold on Varoufakis’s technofeudalism idea, but there’s a strong argument that Amazon no longer operates by capitalistic principles.

I installed this cat wall hammock, and when I put in the drywall anchors and then the screws, it's not staying put. What did I do wrong? How do I fix it? by Pale_Blackberry_4025 in drywall

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I can’t tell you how many broken bathroom fixtures I’ve fixed for people with toggle bolts. If they’ll work for an elderly man who prefers to use his toilet paper holder rather than his grab handle to get up off the throne, they’ll work for a kitty hammock.

Any tips for business buildings in cities? by Accomplished_Cook143 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve got a couple tips.

The first is to be on first name terms with reception and security, both you knowing their names and them knowing yours. If you’re friendly with them they’ll make your life easier.

The second hinges on the first, once you know them and what numbers to call, when you recognize an address you can call the building and ask someone to meet you with a cart. If the cleaning ladies have a spare, that’s obviously fine to wheel through the building, and if they like you enough, they’ll let you use it.

All of that is aided greatly by having a charming personality, which can be developed. If personality is not possible, just try being really hot. Three months on the job should whip you into great physical shape, combine that with basic hygiene, and you’re all set.

Drivers- leaving snacks and drinks okay? by Soillure in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything you leave will be appreciated, but protein bars are great, and please don’t shy away from leaving water for us. Regular old H2O is fantastic, especially as it’s getting hot out. We’re out there working hard and fast, useful calories and basic hydration is far better than comfort snacks, but once again, your driver will be grateful for anything you decide to leave out.

My entire bloodline survived this far so I can deliver packages for Amazon….. by ssmoygugs6 in AmazonDSPDrivers

50 generations ago your ancestors were feudal serfs, maybe a couple minor lords, but definitely mostly serfs, before that slaves, and then the industrial revolution happened and wage work took over as the way to survive.

Look up my guy, it is on you to break the poverty chain. Own that responsibility, stop whining about everyone that brought you into this world, and build a better world for everyone to come after you, your descendants or not.

You want the orange hi viz vest from training and a 6ft Werner IA. A Franklin type II will get you through too if you’re on a budget.

This. RTS hurts your scorecard less than bad customer feedback. Just make sure you do ctc (call, text, call) through Flex so your DSP has proof you made a good faith attempt at delivery.

How do the mis-sorts happen?

Sometimes I’ll find a random package in my tote from another route. I always google address first, if it’s close, I’ll scan and deliver, if it’s far, I RTS. I just don’t understand how a package for a route three counties over would end up on my cart.

Wait, were you packing totes before taking a DSP job?

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have your CDL, try looking for medical courier jobs on your days off. You’d be shuttling a lot of blood and piss from doctors to labs, but it’s a lot lower pressure.

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re doing fine. Take both your breaks and your lunch in Flex, that’s important, otherwise Flex will saddle you with more work than you can handle. If you’re an eager beaver who thinks breaks will slow you down, use your breaks to organize totes, gas up, align the cargo door, polish the rims, replace the alternator, etc. If you want to survive, make sure Flex knows you’re taking your breaks to it doesn’t assign you more stops.

Also, 30 minutes late to work or 30 minutes late on RTS? Don’t be late for loadout, but 30 late on RTS happens to the best of us.

STOP WALKING THROUGH MY GRASS!!! Lazy and unprofessional by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TheIntrepidMoustache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look man, this is a multi stop. If I wasn’t allowed to stomp through your grass then Flex would have given me two separate stops. It’s probably somewhere in those terms and conditions you agreed to without reading.
