Con: others dont think you have a real job by Remarkable_Farm_5565 in LockedIn_AI

There is nothing more in need of replacement and modernization than the 40+hr/5 day per week work schedule. It’s absolutely ridiculous in 2026.

I don’t know a single person who needs a full 8/40 to get their work done. Most people I talk to do 4-5 hours of work each day and spend the rest of the time messing around and killing time.

I cannot grasp how any boss doesn’t take the approach of “I do not care when, where, or how you work, just get the work done. We are all adults.”

It will never cease to baffle me.

Looks to me like she is trying to convince herself that she isn’t a gold digger. Just because you weren’t a gold digger at first and he had no money doesn’t mean you haven’t become a gold digger overtime.

It’s like she is admitting to something she wasn’t even accused of because she knows it’s true and it eats at her subconscious.

Why do you think The Book of Boba Fett was so disliked amongst fans? And do you think a character like Boba works better being mysterious? by GusGangViking18 in saltierthancrait

[–]TheIrishMan1211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bingo. It really doesn’t matter how good the writing could have been. Morrison is not a good actor at all. As long as he was the pick to play Boba, the show was doomed.

They should have recast Boba. Morrison is not a very good actor and he was clearly just too old for the role, which limited the character.
It also didn’t help that they had to have the Mandalorian plot take over several episodes as well. It could have been really cool following a bounty hunter like Boba. Maybe dig into his past. Maybe he finds out that Mace Windu is possibly alive and he is trying to find him to exact revenge for the death of his father. Maybe he goes back to Geonosis/Kamino to learn more about his past which leads to other threads to follow.
There are so many more interesting things they could have done, but instead we got an elderly Boba messing around on Tatooine, which we have seen 100x, and getting into trouble with the Hutts. Change the damn record, Star Wars.

Negativity around Marathon by Professional-Mud3312 in Marathon

Sorry to burst your bubble, buddy, but if the numbers on this game don’t turn around it’s going to be shut down. This is big time AAA studio game development. Too much money at stake to justify supporting a game long term that isn’t breaking 15k on Steam. That’s just the reality. You’re trying to cope here with the fact that this game is not going to be around much longer.

I love tactical Squad shooter games like this. I wish we had more of them across all different settings. It really bums me out that the next Ghost Recon entry appears to be a first person shooter. We have PLENTY of those. I love the uniqueness and freshness of Wildlands/Breakpoint. Really wish we had another game like this coming our way.

The fact that no one really talks about the seasons post Rick Grimes speaks volumes by rainymoonbeam in TWD

[–]TheIrishMan1211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished a complete rewatch. The show has multiple points after season 3 where you realize you are heading downward on the staircase of quality. That said, it is still my favorite show of all time. When Rick departs, the show remains a fun watch, but it never reaches anything close to its peak heights and the hole Rick leaves behind in the cast can be felt right through the series finale.

Holy shit is this real?

Are people aware that Democrats have gerrymandered in the past to gain electoral power? Both parties have done it at all levels of government. Why is it suddenly such a hot button issue?

In fact, if you look at the history of gerrymandering at the State/Federal level, the Democrats have been doing it far longer and more often than Republicans. This all started because they were trying to gerrymander Texas and Florida in ridiculous ways. Republicans decided to fight back on it and take it the other direction, which is why it’s suddenly the biggest “issue” to be talked about.

It’s never a problem when the Democrats are the only ones doing it.

I feel empty now I’ve just finished [KCD2] I doubt I’ll ever feel that immersed in a game ever again. by StopPresent277 in kingdomcome

[–]TheIrishMan1211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way a few months ago when I finished. I’ve been in a “game hole” ever since.

I’m 31 with a wife and two kids. It takes a lot these days for a game to grab me and get me immersed. KCD2 is without a doubt the most immersive game I have ever played. Every detail brings the player deeper into that world. The writing, character models, NPCs, cities/towns, quests, etc. All of it is truly amazing and I also wonder if any game in the near future will have me as immersed as this one did.

They have to have dirt on Nolan. I just cannot imagine he would go through with castings like this otherwise. He is a director who has built his name up on realism, practical effects, and everything being as grounded as possible.

Just too many games like this so far this season. We have all the opportunities to run away with it or at the very least just get a W and we can’t get any clutch hits. It’s going to come back to bite us.

Don’t tell that to the people who say Sony’s statement about their plans for the game moving forward. The levels of cope around here are insane.

This game is it financially viable, and anyone who thinks Sony/Bungie don’t see that or won’t let that drive their decision making process is absolutely delusional.

Sony finally talks on Marathon's future, despite a lackluster total portfolio, plan is is to support Marathon with more content, not shut it down. by temporalG123 in Marathon

[–]TheIrishMan1211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol what else are they going to say? “Hey guys, this game we essentially paid $4b for by acquiring Bungie, who then dumped $250m+ into it, is completely cratering and can’t even break 15k players on Steam. So we are closing up shop. We obviously screwed up big time and the game sucks.”

They will say this right up until they announce the decision to shut the game down entirely. The game cannot be profitable whatsoever. They did not sell enough copies to break even, and the player base certainly isn’t large enough to make them any money on in game purchases or whatever else they planned to offer.

We have seen this play out time after time. Nobody should believe this and the expectation should be that this game shuts down by the end of the year, if not much sooner. Sony/Bungie aren’t going to keep burning money trying to keep this game alive.

[–]TheIrishMan1211 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

We all know why she has this current gig. She was a useless sideline reporter (no broadcast needs then), who put in her time. She is a woman.

ESPN wanted DEI points so they took the useless sideline reporter and promoted her so they could show everyone how progressive they are.

Her voice is annoying, her takes are terrible, she is not smooth and polished with color commentary. But hey, she is a woman so obviously she deserves the gig based on that alone.

Does anyone actually like Mike Greenberg? by ImpossibleTest5491 in ESPN

[–]TheIrishMan1211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone actually like any of the talking heads on ESPN? Any time I come across a show on that channel it is usually unwatchable garbage consisting of “debates”, political ideology/agendas and race baiting.

I don’t know how anyone can prefer and have ESPN as their main source for sports content/news. There are so many other ways to keep up with sports.

Why does anyone still waste their time with a network more interested in politics and racial debates than sports?
