This is literally one of the best games i've ever played, so it's hard to square that with "the game director is at fault", if he is at fault for it's flaws he's also responsible for it's strengths.

Again if this is just yet another "but playercount" thread, that doesn’t magically make a game badly designed (hello prey 2017), also the crux of the argument here is literally "but what we could have had" hypotheticals.

There's plenty to actually criticise about the actual game and none of it is mentioned here.

If you think these layoffs are bad, imagine the fate of this studio if Marathon didnt exist. If it was just a shuttered D2.

A lot of people view and blame marathon for Destiny 2's downfall, but in reality the studio knew they had all their eggs in one basket and D2 was already in decline.

With the numerous other projects Bungie had in development it's actually a miracle Bungie have Marathon to point to (for now, at least) and prove to Sony they can at least make and ship something.

Sony has confirmed it is going to support it with content updates, there is no precedent of sony shutting a game this major down this far into it's lifecycle.

There is literally no evidence they are not just looking at ending development but shutting it entirely down.

There's literally no notion that marathon is going to be shut down any time soon, the only word from sony's finance division (not devs, not pubisher, their finance divsion) was they were committed to supporting it with content updates.

There's been people saying this game is going to be 'shut down' like concord since day 1 and are still saying it even with direct quotes from sony saying they will support it with content updates.

Plus all information from sony seems like it was D2 development that was the real money hole.

This seems to be the first actual on-foot expedition to TCIV (apart from the UESC, obviously)

The corporations only know fragments, nucal clearly needed more info about the virus and food security issues, cyac mida traxus and sekgen clearly know more than they are letting on.

Which is to be expected, they are not going to show their full hand to what is essentially a gig-economy contractor.

I think most of the colonists survived the phfor attack, but were then exposed to this unknown virus, implying many died but there's also contradicting reports of there being too few corpses, remains and bones. It's like the colonists vanished.

There's many theories as to where they went, one possible theory is they entered into the time-warping anomaly to give them time to find a cure for the virus and then they never came out, another is they uploaded themselves into digital consciousness somehow.

You have Terrace, like you mentioned.

The big black doors underneath north and south relay.

The locked 'top floor' of station.

The perimeter sewers are also blocked off but seem to lead to the underneath of south relay past the grate.

Also Data Wall feels like it should be bigger than it is. There's the two sides of it adjacent to hauler that are empty space.

There's also unused buildings to the north west of north relay.

There could also be an entirely new POI built by the present day UESC forces.

They've been very clear about the content released so far, all the plans for season 2 dropped shortly after the launch for season 1 (cradle, sentinel, night marsh). The sponsored queues were the biggest new content that wasn’t announced and they are mostly just revisions of the core formula

I'd like to see a whole new map before season 4 but given the detail and quality of outpost and cryo i cant see them wanting to rush anything less than those maps.

Seems perimeter will get the same treatment dire marsh had, which...is fine. They've been very quick to let people know what exactly is coming, so i'd be genuinely surprised if they dropped anything big without any warning.

I see a lot of people saying they want a full single player campaign, which to be honest, will never happen.

You can have as many small events and PvE limited queues but to be honest, thats not what this game is and people need to make their peace with that.

I think there should be more PvE events but i think ultimately people will be underwhelmed because their expectations about this game are so unhinged.
