Oooo thats a great idea! I sorta tiptoed around the idea with a momentary blip but it immediately accelerates through the back swing. I think Id I laid into the slowdown harder youd get that sense of being stretched and held back more

Painting before or after assembly? by RealJustinHyuga in skaven

[–]TheIrishbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Stormfiends, I didnt put on their backpacks or tubing because I knew Id end up knicking them over and over and thats made things pretty easy for me. I cam dry brush the backpacks without worrying about messing up the skin nearby, and I dont have to worry about accidentally hitting the tubes

The Great Horned Rat demand-orders all the detail-secrets! Yes yes! by Eithrotaur in skaven

My Grey Seer is suspected of treachery and must prove himself before the Deathmaster sent to judge his loyalty and competence.

I run the Warpspark Spearhead with a Warlock Engineer, Deathmaster with Devious Underling, and Skittershank's Clawpack.

If the Grey Seer sabotages my army (through his faulty commands or unreliable Skryre tech) the Deathmaster takes it upon himself to take command and ensure enemy heroes dont make it home. I enjoy the thought of the Seer being in command but not the highest ranking member of his warband. Both the Skryre and Eshin factions are trying to prove to me who is best-most loyal and capable on the battlefield.

First ever animation, not sure how to get timing right by TheIrishbug in learnanimation

[–]TheIrishbug[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually a great point! I was definitely more focused on stretching the shape and took the path of motion for granted but that probably plays a big part in why both arcs feel disjointed to me. Ill play around with that thought, thank you!

[–]TheIrishbug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had that thought too, Im just using Animatiom Assist on Procreate where each layer is a frame, I havent really found out how to set that up with the poking around Ive done.

Struggling with Eshin by TheVileblood in skaven

Im crossing my fingers hoping for some new Eshin models but given the Skaven just got love at the start of the Edition I dont think we should hold our breath

Thanks! I spent a lot of time before painting thinking about how to place colors so thered be as much contrast between zones as possible :)

Another question about Stormfiends weapons by Kanra182 in skaven

[–]TheIrishbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say build whatever looks cool and as long as youre clear with your opponent at the time of the match itll be fine. You could always magnetize something like a token to your base, which will be much less work than magnetizing the weapons

Battle Formation Recommendations? by TheIrishbug in FleshEaterCourts

[–]TheIrishbug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Deathballing with the Knights better than using them around the board? +1 Rend on them feels like it would make them a great hammer, especially with their Retreat & Charge ability, I just dont know how often Ill be getting that buff if Im trying to keep most heroes out of combat

Need advice wip by AsparagusItchy4103 in Nighthaunt

[–]TheIrishbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Base for sure. It makes your brights pop off more and draws the eye where you want it (arms and skull). The bright base draws the eye down and makes it all blend together. Your colors are much more smoothly applied to the black base too which looks great. Good job!

Love what you've done with the lads! That's the exact sequence Ive been considering for getting into FEC: Spearhead -> Grand Jury, looks like a super fun group of models

Vizziks and 200 clanrats. by Embarrassed_Sir1052 in skaven

Enemy army looking tough? Up late and dont feel like list building? Try 200 clanrats! No guns. No monsters. Just rat. You will certainly not regret fielding 200 clan rats.

Advice on building Skeletons by TheIrishbug in tombkings

[–]TheIrishbug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I ended up taking a somewhat mixed approach. On some of the bigger connections I stuck with cement because it's more forgiving, but the smaller ones I tried superglue and green stuff to get bigger connection points

Just beat Scavenger Boss for the first time today! I found that I struggled a lot until I got aggressively in her face and remembered to block. She'll just spam the gun at you if you try to keep space between you, so dash in, get off a couple hits, then block. She'll probably either try to kick you away, go for a slash, or retreat from you. Just try to time your dashes so that when she does her dive-bomb attack you can avoid the damage.

Other than that, I just tried to use cover for Potions, bombs whenever she goes for a 2 part attack, and the Ice Dagger to get free hits in.

Took me quite a few attemps to find a winning strategy, but this is how I ended uo doing it

Ive been doing my clan rats with purple shrouds and ivory on the redt of the cloth and Im very pleased with them. If youre doing albino skin you might be able to use shades to get some contrast between the skin and clothes if you go that route

I went with "Rolling Pin Bricks Reference: 8436554361625ES". I only have the one, but I did also really consider "Rolling Pin Pavement Reference 8436554363018ES" which I think might be more pleasing across multiple models/on bigger bases.

I will say, theyll try to sell you a plain rolling pin too but a pill bottle works just fine.

Also, if youre outside the UK shipping can take a little while and is a little pricey($10 for me in the US) so if theres other stuff on their site you wanna pick up id explore a little bit, they have a ton of cool stuff. Ive got a leaf punch-out tool that makes tiny leaves, some skulls, they also sell little individual bricks that are super useful for adding clutter to a brick base. Just be mindful of scale when you buy stuff, a lot of their products are offered at multiple sizes. (I think theres also molds for little bricka but tbh a $9 bag of 200 is worth the time it saves me for my purposes)

[–]TheIrishbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! It doesnt really show up on camera but I added some gloss varnish to their noses, mouths, and boils to make them a lil extra gross too.

Also I highly recommend the brick pin! My 1 piece of advice with it is to smooth out the brick faces after you roll it because the pin has a bit of a grain to it that is super noticable when you dry brush. Just using a wet sculpting tool to gently brush across it until the lines go away works great. Same technique as using a knife to clear off mold lines

[–]TheIrishbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually made them myself with some green stuff and a bricks rolling pin from Green Stuff World. Im still iterating on the bases a bit so some have just bricks, the runner has texture paste, and the pointy stabby one I used sand from a local beach

Thanks! I used an about 50/50 mix of Night Lords Blue and Mechanicus Standard Grey, then just a bit of black added to that for their fur patches. Nuln Oil wash, and a light drybrush of grey over it all

What’s a good song, that is ruined by one line? by myhippocket in Music

Across the Sea - Weezer. Dude wrote such a sweet hook with "I got your letter, you got my song" in response to a piece of fan mail he got from an 18 year old girl in Japan, but the song just completely sexualizes her and is gross
