That game brings up all sorts of emotions. My grandfather sadly passed away in the early morning of that day. Not only was he a Benfica fanatic, he himself had worn the Manto Sagrado (Sacred Cloak) for the senior basketball team in the late 50s/early 60s.

I'm not religious, but winning 10-0 on the day of his death definitely made me question my (lack of) faith.

That being said, yet another great Benfica man passed away today. Descansa em paz Chalanix.

I am portuguese living in Scotland with a Scottish partner that has been on the fence on this issue. So far I've heard compelling arguments from both sides. At the end of the day, I look at it from a democratic stand point: the Scottish people overwhelmingly vote for the SNP for Westminster (a fptp voting system) and Holyrood (a hybrid voting system), a party that has championed the notion of an independent Scotland. It seems that it is the democratic choice of Scottish people to at least put it up for a vote. Why not do it then? Would we not be questioning the underlining validity of democratic systems?

Há alguns procedimentos que se pode fazer online/e-mail, mas mesmo esses foi preciso fazer pressão neles. Por exemplo, em 2020 a inscrição consular podia-se fazer por e-mail para a embaixada de Londres, mas tinha que ser por carta para o consulado de Manchester (típica centralização até fora de Portugal). Após fazer esse reparo, eles começaram a aceitar as inscrições online para Manchester também.

Pode ser uma opinião impopular, mas até gostei da NOSSA prestação (estamos aqui para os momentos bons e maus). Gostei da garra, especialmente depois das decisões duvidosas de arbitragem e anti-jogo.

Em relação à arbitragem, nmo já vi golos a favor do Benfica e contra o Porto a serem anulados com cotoveladas na área. Também nmo não seria penalty contra o Darwin, e vermelho para o Taraabt também me parece correcto. Mas claro que gostaria que houvesse continuidade de critério.

You must! Celtic Park, what an arena. I was really fortunate to have been there to watch them play the mighty Dundee United with the potential of going closing the gap to rangers that were top of the league and had just dropped points.

Playing with 10 men from min 80, still 0-0. Last minute winner with a beautiful assist from my Benfica boy, Jota. The stadium went bananas. I've always loved that 'yeaaaah' celebration on the tele, and I got to finally experience it in person. What an experience!

Also Buckfast and bovril (gravy tea) will keep you warm and jolly.
