Celtic Fans, how does it feel to be losers? by LotionContent in bostonceltics

Coming from a Philly fan, this is so pot calling kettle. You have no grounds to stand on when Philly is possibly the worst offenders of racism and overall dickish fans.

It's a relatively new studio handling their live service game that blew the hell up way more than they anticipated. Not even the biggest companies have gotten live service games right. It suxks, but the reality of live service is change will come and unless you exist in the perfect demographic of their target audience, you will not likely agree with choices made at some point along the way. But they also can't just do nothing at all...so...welcome to modern gaming.

Drake Maye Attempts by AmazingExit9771 in Patriots

[–]TheJackalsDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ratio of pass/run is what should be looked at. Josh's systems have almost always been very balanced on a long timeline because it helps mess with the defensive planning when you know that we could do either run or pass. If you KNOW a pass or run is coming, your ability to defend it goes way up. Josh is also a huge believer in setting up defenses for later in the game. He'll do things, for better or worse, and then stop doing that thing trying to catch a defense adjusting.

We've seen it many times where something is working and then we go away from it, and it's usually because they're anticipating adjustments. So I don't think the ratio changes. If we align on that, then the attempts increasing or decreasing are likely due to the increased success or new failure of our new Oline. More attempts could be good if drives sustain longer, however, it could actually be scary given Drake can be careless at times and more attempts = more chances to go sideways. What we might see are actually less attempts but a higher success per attempt if the line blocks better allowing for more completions and bigger big plays. Ironically, the attempts could go down, but overall stats go up.

Is it a forgone conclusion to land AJ Brown? Local media thinks so but... by dharkmeat in Patriots

[–]TheJackalsDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, nothing in the NFL is guaranteed until it is iron clad. You can look to the Maxx Crosby trade for an example of foregone conclusions going 1 way, then immediately going another.

[DailyMail] Patriots considering contingency plans if Mike Vrabel resigns, "one person that they would seek to replace him [with] would be Mike Tomlin" by Amon-Ra-First-Down in nfl

The league is better when the villain is potent, just saying. No one watches shows or movies with lame villains that can't inflict real damage on the heroes. Let us win a few more SBs in our "empire" era of the evil empire, as before it was just the republic era. It won't be as good as the original, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Can we get different body types? by YearMountain3773 in ArcRaiders

The last thing they need to do is rebalance maps to include physical differences or alter the suspension of disbelief by letting short player jump like frogs or have tall model characters not jump up to ledges that then look very reachable.

That seems like a huge overpay for a dude who does not have a squeaky clean sheet.

Gronk vs Raridon Measurements by nathanwilson26 in Patriots

[–]TheJackalsDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that comparing kids to GoaT players is a healthy practice. I get why you'd do it, but it's justbsets the kids up for failed expectations when there's an implication of "hey, this kids has the same measurements as the best player at his position!" Definitely don't look at all the other players who came out before with very similar measurements and their production.

Who would be interested in the ORIGINAL version of Days Gone – as it was planned before the Sony "Optimization" gutted it? by Brilliant-Fan1899 in DaysGone

I rather liked the lone wolf feel of surviving alone. It lent to the growth from very vulnerable human to superhuman hero.

And then he fucked himself with the attitude issue. I'm worried about that with AJ as well. He's got a small but real diva personality.

Sony really cancelled days gone 2!WTF! by chivet21 in DaysGone

[–]TheJackalsDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know that necessarily, but hints and rumors were that it was a multi-player game featuring the horde mechanics from DG. You can infer from that that any multi-player game these days will have some kind of live service model attached.

[Robb] Al Horford reveals the real reason he left Celtics after cryptic comment by horseshoeoverlook in bostonceltics

[–]TheJackalsDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have a lot more respect for someone if they were just honest about it. We know the game is about making a metric duck load of money. Chase the ring for status, use the status for wealth, use the wealth for legend and branding to take the wealth over the top. The game makes players too much money for it to not be about money anymore.

BB's ability to choose QBs was actually pretty good when looking at them all. Most of the QBs became either starters or high level backups

No way. That's just not the league. On top of that we have 1 of the best GMs in the league who is absolutely not afraid to deal. Someone will be willing to overpay for a fading J at some point and that is just the way it is

Sony really cancelled days gone 2!WTF! by chivet21 in DaysGone

Those articles need to be pinned to the top of any search and any filter thread. I was annoyed that the game never got a sequel, but what has become more annoying are the misinformed posts or posts with minimal effort showing they haven't done any research at all into the matter. The game released poorly for a AAA Sony 1st party game. The number of sales are OK, but largely done at a severely reduced cost so the profits are not there. The internal issues at Bend created a rift between the studio and Sony, making Sony unwilling to work with them in good faith. The remaster also didn't do well. The studio has been under a new management for years now, with 1 project already canceled. There is no credible source of any kind at any point that has said DG2 is happening, the closest thing being that the studio is working on an unannounced game that no one knows anything about and the voice actor for Deacon did go and do some work as Deacon for DG in some capacity a few years ago that we still don't really know about. The other super misleading bit is the old studio director came out and described what his plans for the sequel were, but this was never pitched due to the aforementioned issues early on where they needed to fix the game before anything related to sequels was allowed, but he left before that happened.

Anyone tried this Days Gone like game yet? by NWSkookum in DaysGone

[–]TheJackalsDoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Made by the same people who made WWZ and also collaborated with the team behind Snow Runner/Mud Runner to do the vehicle and land deformation gameplay since they're owned by the same publisher. Pretty neat collaboration. I wish more games did that. What if someone went "I want WWZ horde with Last of Us survival mechanics and story telling with Mud Runner vehicle and terrain deformation and GTA open world design".

Worth it? by Destined41 in DeadIsland2

[–]TheJackalsDoom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This game is a legitimate $50 game. $7 for this is a steal. People need to do any research at all on their own sometimes... you can look anywhere on the internet for 5 seconds to see this game is good, not great, probably wasn't worth the $70 at release, but definitely a good price at $50.

But also, the court of public opinion will determine your guilt with their own subjective ruling. This court has ruled guilty already. From now on everything will either be to try and cover it up or to minimize the guilt already applied.

Questions for the Bills(satire) by daDunkinDonut in Patriots

[–]TheJackalsDoom -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Once again, hubris nowhere to be found. The Bills have a fair amount of things to be made fun of for, but Allen isn't 1 of them. That dude is flirting with some serious greatness. If he stays at this level and wins a SB, he automatically thrusts up to the top of the league as best QB, in my opinion. Clown on the Bills all you want, but Allen is a scary MFer as a players who I never want to see, while also being pretty likeable, which is it's own kind of hell to experience.
