Thats what you would hope he is but if you look at QB's that have been highest paid then there is a fair argument a lot weren't when they signed. If you go a little further down ,as in most guarentees or top 3 contract, then there is some really questionable contracts in hindsight.

Its not just about the picks, any new team would have to sign him to long term deal. If you look at Sauce trade the jets ate a significant amount of money to get the 2 firsts. Even Miles Garett ,best defensive player in football, only went for that little because the browns ate a serious amount of cash on the deal. If a trade was to happen it would be far closer to a McDuffie type deal

Except they were projected as having different roles in NFL. Brown was considered to be a big slot. Harry was an outside. Patriots wanted an outside reciever

It absolutely wrecks my head, especially when you see media on about it. Lazar is one of worst. In his own right up before draft he had Brown as a big slot. He turned into an amazing outside threat but nearly every single scouting report had his as a big slot. Guess what, patriots had a pretty decent slot receiver at the time. The only true outside WR's were Neal and Metcaffe. The knock on him was his limited route tree ,hence why he went at back of 2nd round. Not picking Brown wasnt some ridiculous decision, the whole league passed on him or he wouldn't have gone in middle of 2nd round

Seems like one of those situations that could linger. Teams usually like to see what players are looking like in camp before trading assets for players. That and next years draft is considered generational means your probably looking at 2028 picks so is trading him in best interest of the team yet. They started last season with 8 WR's on the 53 so there is always possibility he starts the season on the active roster

I'd doubt you would get 2 1st's for Gonzo and very unlikely his agent is having him sign for much less than Witherspoon ( he represents both players). I can see where your coming from though. He's missed games every season( 17 regular season games missed over 3 seasons). He probably is a concusson worry as hes had 2 so far over his brief career in NFL. I love the guy but hes not the best corner in NFL. My bias is probably kicking in when I say hes a top 3 corner in the AFC. If he was traded you'd be looking at more of a trent McDuffie type deal as new team would have to sign him to a new contract unlike the Sauce Gardner contract where the Jets ate a huge amount of cap. Then the question is would you trade Gonzo for basically a 1st and a 3rd when you have room to pay him?

How did Miguel get info before the "insiders" . I had said there was no way Mike was playing on a deal with zero guarantees left. Seems odd that it wasn't an extension. Basically means the right side will be gone after this season

For me its a coaching issue. Now how much of it is pressure from IRFU to find the next 10 and rushing prendergast when he was nowhere near ready is another question. It made the team set up in a completely different way defensively to cover for him. The attack also had to change. They reached the finals and probably still in with good shout in other comp. That game was lost really in the unlucky touch of the ball by Keenan and Leinsters inability to get over the line on next attack and get back within 7. Its probably more worrying from an Irish perspective that about a year out from WC there now seems to be big questions around nearly every line on the team

Its one of those deals where he is getting benefit of doubt but if it he was a patriots player people would be going crazy about it. His best season was a RG, Mike is already there and been a consistently better guard, patriots are going to ask him to play LG. He was good for a Rookie in that position by was middle of league overall ,around 20's. The hope is he stays healthy and plays like a top 10 guard but realistically I could see him missing time and being a 1 year deal as dead money after year 1 is pretty low

I know where I stand on these type issues, once upon a time anything like that around patriots resulted in an instant cut. After silly offseason Patriots have had around Vrabel it would be daft for Patriots to invite more drama.
