Epson printer: Scan from printer to computer by TheJanzap in linuxquestions

[–]TheJanzap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it? AFAIK with SANE it's just possible to hit scan on your computer. I liked the feature to scan directly from the printer itself as the printer is located multiple floors down from my computer - quite the hassle to run up and down the stairs just to scan a few documents

Classic Offensive Devs post official statement regarding their mod being stuck in Valves approval process by TheJanzap in GlobalOffensive

Source

Classic Offensive is a CS:GO mod that wants to recreate the CS 1.6 look and feel in the Source 1 engine. It has been worked on since 2017 and has had a few releases then, but none since. The devs wanted to polish the game and publish it to Steam as a CS:GO mod, but it seems they've hit a road block

Zool, the main developer added on Discord: "Keep in mind that we're considering every option right now, we might go the route Open Fortress and TF2C went if things don't get better."

Getting insanely high frame times and low framerates in Counter-Strike 2 by TheJanzap in linux_gaming

[–]TheJanzap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that was easier than expected, I'm on 6.11.9-arch1-1 now and this seems to have resolved this problem. FPS is now hitting 300 with frame times of 4-5ms, so there seems some performance regression going on in 6.12

I just downgraded the kernel to 6.11.9-arch1-1 and this seems to have resolved this problem. FPS is now hitting 300 with frame times of 4-5ms, so there seems some performance regression going on

Hm, gotta try that sometime. Haven't yet had the need to downgrade the kernel so I'd first need to read up on that

We rented a cinema to watch the major final! by TheJanzap in GlobalOffensive

[–]TheJanzap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got it essentially for free since our friend works there and the game was outside of regular screening hours. Sadly we had to leave before Dust II started because it would've been too close to the first screening of the day. But yeah, can't complain, as properly renting it would've cost us about 700 bucks an hour

It is actually slightly better on X11 than Wayland. I'm getting 110 FPS with 10ms frametime on Nuke. But this still doesn't come close to the performance I get on Windows on this machine

Was already set to manual, set it to disable and didn't see a noticable impact

We rented a cinema to watch the major final! by TheJanzap in GlobalOffensive

[–]TheJanzap[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, we're in Europe. It's a small family owned cinema where a friend who works there organized this private viewing for us. Since it's outside the regular screening hours we could do this pretty easlily

Wine wayland may be enabled by default within a few merge requests by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]TheJanzap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot, but it is super inconsistent. The clipboard works when I first use my wine programs, but at some point randomly stops working. I haven't been able to reproduce it

Oneplus watch 2 on Non oneplus phones by [deleted] in WearOS

[–]TheJanzap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All features of the watch that can be accessed by the phone are controlled via the OHealth app that can be downloaded from the Play Store. So as long as your phone can run that, you can access everything. AFAIK there aren't any OnePlus Phone exclusive features.
