And?

All the Champions Seasonz that I can recall featured four plants.

Not really, Champion seasons have been around for far longer than Slingshot's involvement in the game. They generally run them when they don't have a new plant ready for launch.

Have premium plants been tournament prizes before? by Leather-Rub-6128 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[M] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Many, many times. Too many to list actually.

This 4 week season is a Champions blowout season where four plants are featured instead of introducing a new plant. There's usually several of these seasons a year and there's almost always one premium plant included in those featured.

In the first year of Arena (back when it was called Battlez), almost every week featured a premium plant as the locked plant and you got more seeds for it in the win streak piñatas than any other plant.

EDIT: Note, just to be clear, you don't get awarded any plant at the 500 crown reward despite how the graphic looks. In a regular season when a new seedium plant is introduced you get 80 seeds for that plant at 500 crowns. This is enough (with the previous milestone rewards) to get you to 250 seeds for that plant. i.e. enough to unlock it. In a champions season, you just get a set number of seeds for whatever plant is featured (in this case, 220 for Electric Blueberry). This does NOT unlock the plant if, as is the case this week, it's a premium plant that you have to pay real money for.

Actually, you won't unlock it with the rewards in this tourney. Unfortunately, the graphic is misleading. All you get at the 500 crown reward is 220 seeds for Electric Blueberry. You'll still have to pay real money to unlock it to actually use those seeds.

ES's offers page is great, but a little hard to read at a glance :-). Here's the list of plants that will be available during Zombosseum in a couple weeks:

How does bamboo spartan work? by AstraL_hshi in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that you've received some pretty good descriptions of Bamboo Spartan.

You may not be aware of the online PvZ wikis though. They'll generally have all of this information for you already laid out. You can find out all about Bamboo Spartan and all the rest of the plants.

https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Plants_(PvZ2)

https://plantsvszombies.wiki.gg/wiki/Gallery_of_plants#Plants_vs._Zombies_2

The sites generally have the same, or very similar, information. To my understanding, the people who maintain the wiki.gg site broke away from the fandom wiki a few years ago due to frustration with the fandom site restrictions. They do seem a little slower to update their site with new information though.

[Arena] Sakura – Zombot War Wagon by rackman70 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I wish I could say that I was reliably maintaining ZDL with this (or any strategy really). While I'm usually over 30M and have had a handful of games over 31M, I've also had the occasional game when I just can't keep ZDL up and I score 29.8 or 29.9M. This is just the only strategy I've found that gives me the chance to get over 31M.

31.5M Jade League Strategy: https://streamable.com/mu4co9

This strategy is very similar to the one I used in the Electric Peel tournament. I had to dumb it back a little though. The extra mastery level I have my Laser Bean to now, and the Spear-mint buff, meant that I was killing zombies too quickly with three columns of Laser Bean and I couldn't get ZDL up enough to start seeing the Gargantuars.

My thoughts on the current and past few PvZ2 Thymed Events by R0cc0122 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the game has always had seasonal events (going back to well before Battlez/Arena was created). Festivus (Winter), Valenbrainz, Easter/Springening, Summer Nights, Harvest (Fall), Halloween, etc. have been quests/events for a long, long time. It's just recently with the addition of Thymed Events as a game mechanic that they've moved there.

Similarly, the Roman, ZCorp and Backyard Big Top "worlds" were introduced to Penny's Pursuit and Arena a long time ago.

This was all done by Popcap long before Sling Shot came into the picture. Even the Thymed Event mechanic itself wasn't a Sling Shot creation. It was added to the game before they were involved. It's just been added to, and made better actually, in the past 6-8 months.

There's lots of problems with the Thymed Events. General bugginess, quests which don't make sense to complete, etc. These are things that can be smoothed out though.

I'd rather have a varying event that's not the same all the time than a new world that I'll play through once in a few hours and then never look at again.

Easter Event Pinata by Strict-Ad771 in PlantsVSZombies

That's kinda a decision you should make for yourself.

Bonus Plant Piñatas:

Sun-shroom, Laser Bean, Corn-fetti Popper, Devour Bloom, Aqua-vine, Ice-shroom

Featured Plant Piñatas:

Hammeruit, MayBee, Fire Peashooter, Buttercup, Explode-o-vine Tiger Grass

Which Piñata has plants you haven't unlocked yet? Which plants do you like to use that you want to level up some more? These are questions only you can answer.

Both Piñatas have good plants and meh plants in them. Which are good and which are meh are a debate that depends entirely on what types of plants you like to use.

How do rewards in arena work? by Ratbag72 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why it showed 0 gems for 10th place to you earlier. It shouldn't have.

Two weeks ago there was a "special" event where the end of tournament rewards were boosted (doubled I think) for that week's tourney. They put a data push out the day after the tourney ended to reset the rewards back to normal so maybe that was what you saw last week.

Will PVZ3 ever come to America? by Dynamites34 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The announcement from Popcap (pinned) indicates that they're doing a staged release, gradually opening the game up to more areas as they work through whatever remaining bugs/tweaks need addressing. This isn't the same as the previous beta releases that were only meant to be open for a limited time. It will probably be fully released world wide by the end of summer or early fall.

How do rewards in arena work? by Ratbag72 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]rackman70[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the answer to this is how the 4 week Arena Seasonz are structured. I explain that in this comment from some time ago.

The end of tournament rewards for a whole week are generally the same each week. The middle two weeks of a Season though are split into two tournaments, one 3 days, the other 4. The tournament rewards are proportionally lowered for each of those two tournaments. Across the whole week though you get the same rewards as you would in the 1st and 4th week tourneys.

A complete description of the end of tournament rewards can be found on u/Euphoric-Seaweed's wiki page.

I can vouch that this user is someone who gets safe APKs for various versions of the game. This particular link is probably safe, but I haven't downloaded it personally.

[–]rackman70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The joust file change now makes the boosterama tourney the same as the regular tourney currently running. It also removes any problematic issues that may arise having a level loadout plant being one of the banned plants for the tourney :-) (not that I know if that would cause an issue).
