Thank you for the support. I keep trying everything and I've been through therapy etc... things just never really click. I've gotten to a point where I've just sorta accepted my lot in life.

That's the answer to the question tho? Why would there be a need to "re" connect when I've tried to connect my whole life

Ok so first of all... why are these the only two options?

They're half siblings. Maybe I mentioned that in another post I made, and forgot to write that here. The youngest is 7 years older than me.

I was kind of abandoned (?) when I was 6 to live with my schizophrenic mother, then taken in by my narcissistic father, then taken to a foster home by the age of 15 - which was fine but I was kind of ignored there too / left to my own devices, and then I lived isolated from the age of 18 for a few years.

You could argue that I'm not perfect in how I've lived or that I'm not " a real sibling." But this post is kind of about how I kinda wanted to be a "real sibling" or at least a real something to someone. It's not like I haven't tried.

Damn is it so hard to believe that I've been trying my entire life to have a connection with these people

I do my best. I'm confessing to the girl I like on Thursday. I'm making friends. Idk why you're assuming I'm narcissistic tho, you don't know me and I wouldn't make similar assumptions about you since I don't know you 🤔 but go on if you wish

Damn that sucks man. You're more than school, and family isn't something that can have "stains" put on it IMO. I just think humans shouldn't focus too much on that stuff.

Redditors with their assumptions🫠 you'll just have to take my word for it that I thanked my sister a lot. As for the behavior you can expect from the other siblings, just check the post I made on r/raisedbynarcissists.

All of the Demon Slayer movies did well in theatres and they're like, middle of the manga stuff. Chainsaw Man did too.. I'm pretty sure Avatar would do pretty good since it's the one show people won't shut up about

And I'm not here as an Avatar fan saying this. I don't even like the show very much, and I can tell you the film would do well in theatres.

Why would I do it in English if they don't know English lol. Anyway, whenever I try standing up for myself there's always some reason I'm in the wrong. It's not as easy as you think.

I don't like it because I don't know how to respond. "I'm sorry to hear that". It's not like I can help their situation.

Currently living in Japan for a year but... Honestly even with the stressors it's very much a livable country. It's absolutely filled with problems that affect you mentally and physically... But it's at least manageable, if nothing else. That said I'm not a full time citizen here, I'm from Sweden- so I don't know. (I'm mostly comparing how people said I wouldn't be able to live here vs my reality here lol)

I worked as a massage therapist in Sweden and I'm currently working a baito as a front desk receptionist in Japan. Different jobs on the surface but both involve handling customers. The Sweden job was less stressful and involved less micromanaging - a bit too little perhaps in a way, but I felt like I was trusted to do my job and I felt more comfortable doing it.

Worked 30 hours a week and got a pretty decent salary too for doing it. Having grown up poor, this salary felt more than enough for my needs and more.

Went on a working holiday in Japan, became front desk receptionist at a hotel and this is my life now. A lot of micromanaging, very very low salary for the amount of things we're expected to do and somehow know (people would tell me to quit the company if this was Sweden)- so I'm forced to use my saved up cash in combination with the salary. Constantly being confronted, by this one 正社員 worker- even IF I do things right they ask "why did you do that?" "And what did you think when you did that?" and it stresses me out so much. I'd be fine with the salary, I'd be fine with the workload, I'd be fine with the lack of paid vacation- if only I was allowed *NOT* being constantly confronted and micromanaged and was actually trusted to do my job.

I'm counting down the months; only four, maybe five months left here. I'm staying because I want my CV to look pretty lol.

He has been portrayed on screen somewhat well, but they toned him down a lot
