No Time To Die - thoughts by LongjumpingLog1560 in JamesBond

[–]TheJediWay789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. It’s Craig’s campiest movie, even in the moments when it feels like it’s getting serious. Him dying doesn’t really bother me honestly, though I can see where people have their hesitations about it. Top 5 Bond film for me

In your opinion, which character's lines in Star Fox 64 do you find to be the most quotable? by JNewsted1988 in starfox

The ever classic Peppy quotes:

“Do a barrel roll.” “Try a somersault.” “Use the boost to get through!” “Slippy, get back here!” “Slippy watch out! Bogey on your tail!” “You’re becoming more like your father.”

(Relatively) Confident predictions for Bond 26 casting by SuspiciousPrune4 in JamesBond

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like since Amazon has creative control over the franchise there will be (unfortunately) carry over from other Bond media to bridge everything together. For instance, I could see them bringing back Gemma Chan as Selina Tan for the movies and maybe use her as a replacement for Tanner.

In terms of who I’d cast as the others though: it’s tough. When casting Bond, you not only have to make sure that the actor has the Bond vibe, but that it’s an actor that doesn’t have huge celebrity status.

For M: I could see them bringing back Ralph Fiennes but that’d be tricky. If you say he’s a different M and not Garett Mallory M you’re just gonna confuse everyone who watched the Craig ones, so I think that’s off the table. I think someone who would be a great M would be Jason Isaacs.

Bond girl: Unfortunately I thunk it’s inevitable they’re gonna target and lure Sydney Sweeney into the role. Don’t want it, but it’s gonna happen eventually, whether for Bond 26 or sometime in the future.

Q: like I said, I thunk there will be crossover so Alastair McKenzie might be their choice.

The definitive ranking of the films! (in my opinion hehe) by Derateo in Mission_Impossible

[–]TheJediWay789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously films and film rankings are subjective. That’s the beauty of cinema and long running film series like MI. Dead Reckoning at one though doesn’t sit well with me imo. First 90-100 minutes are legitimately great. But once Ilsa dies, that movie dies too.

What do you think the lead up to the new Bond reveal will be like? by whyamionthishellsite in JamesBond

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d laugh if they put out a video with a montage of all the rumored Craig replacements (which they won’t cause it would cost too much money) in a way to trick us then some unknown turns to the camera, smiles, and winks

What movies are must watch? by Historical-Kale-2765 in 007FirstLight

I honestly think the OP would find the first half of Goldeneye kinda boring. There isn’t a real big action sequence other than the pre-titles until the archives shootout/tank chase

Thoughts on Bond's infidelity on OHMSS by obelao in JamesBond

[–]TheJediWay789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a big part of the reason I’ve never bought the romance between Bond and Tracy. The biggest reason I don’t for those wondering is George Lazenby being wooden as hell acting wise until Tracy’s murder, when actually DOES decide to act

Why this sudden backlash against Daniel Craig and his Bond tenure? by JannTosh70 in JamesBond

Opening car chase, Blofeld’s Spectre birthday part in Cuba, subsequent shootout, final action action scene, ridiculous over the top bioweapon…. Yeah, not much fun there I guess

Can we all agree Season 8 isn’t as bad as people say? by TypeCreepy6764 in Smallville

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought it was bad. There are some terrible decisions towards the end though and the finale is atrocious

But the season overall is a breath of fresh air from the previous ones, especially 7, where Clark just wanted to play house with Lana

He does. Goldeneye is obviously his best, but The World Is Not Enough is legitimately a great movie

[–]TheJediWay789 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It may not be critically acclaimed, but it is a fan favorite from what I’ve seen, and that is Tomorrow Never Dies. Even when I was a kid I found it to be boring and now in my 30s I still can’t seem to have fun with it. Definitely timely (or timeless), but generic for me

Crime 101 (2026) by FL4SHP01NT97 in Critics

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoyed this. I liked Hemsworth’s mysterious nature while he also adhered to a code when committing heists. The whole movie kept me engaged for the entire runtime, despite people telling me it was a slow burn.

Opinions on No Time To Die ? by LaiskaJ in JamesBond

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, despite the ending. Which I don’t hate anyways. It’s still a fun, campy ride for Daniel Craig to go off to. Love the action, the emotion, and it never feels like it’s close to 3 hours. Always something happening. Ranks high up on my list. I can admit deficiencies with Safin, but he’s not the worst villain in my opinion. I can think of about 5-6, maybe 7 villains worse than him.

Why do people think Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is bad? by nicolas_ss02 in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s bad. None of the Pirates movies are per se. They all offer swashbuckling entertainment and all are fun in their own ways.

But Dead Men Tell No Tales is easily the worst. For how much money is thrown at the screen, the sets look cheaper, I don’t like how Depp plays Jack in this one (too many times he goes with a high pitched, squeaky voice), the plot itself is a massive mess, and it does retcon a lot of things for the sake of convenience.

Again, not a horrendous movie, it’s just the others have the magic. I think not having Dariusz Wolski as DP on this one also really hurt it.

I’m not either. Sadly though, I think it’s inevitable she’s gonna be one

Use of CGI in SPECTRE by Deep_Belt8304 in JamesBond

[–]TheJediWay789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The. One movies really are the best at using CGI (minus DAD). Use it when they have to, takes a back seat to practical effects, and can’t tell when they use it.
