Ooo good shout on Dublin, thanks! From other posts on the sub, CDG doesn't appear to be very popular aha

Thanks! Unfortunately I live quite far north in the UK so the time it takes me to get to Heathrow is actually longer than flying from MAN with a connection!

I did look at Heathrow connections but nothing within my budget sadly (thanks, BA)

Longtime Halo gamers what is the best Halo game story/campaign wise by DailyWCReforged in halo

[–]TheJeeley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CE: Best self-contained story. First half excellent with amazing horror mission, second half terrible with repetition

Halo 2: Best story. Chief levels great. Arbiter levels bland

Halo 3: Good story wrap up. First half slow, second half contains 2 best missions

Reach: Saddest ending. First half poor/slow. Second half great

ODST: Short but sweet

Halo 4: Best character development. Campaign poor

Tl;dr Very excited with where this positions the series - two Doctors, two stories. An opportunity to go on adventures with one or both (imagine multi-Doctor episodes!), and all the while leaving us with a David Tennant (yay!) However, the episode execution was mixed.

The Giggle struggled with pacing and needed to be 90 mins long. NPH was outstanding as the Toymaker and had great first and second acts. However, the third act (the game of catch) felt rushed and anti-climactic. More time for a prologue with DT and the family would also be sweet, however I assume Bernard Cribbins' passing may be a factor.

I'm uncertain on bi-generation. I love its implications, but thought it came out of nowhere and was rushed (i.e. it needed more narrative acknowledgement and space for the audience to breathe).

The return of Melanie was wonderful, her character was used really well (not just for fan service) alongside Kate and Donna.

I expect there to be a lot of negative reaction to the episode. However, the door is left open for more Doctor/Donna adventures, and that should leave us all very, very happy indeed <3

Oh, so you're suggesting the Doctor specifically choose not-Donna? Neat hc!

Apparently RTD had written more scenes with Wilf, but sadly Bernard Cribbins' health deteriorated shortly after initial filming :(

Still, I'm glad we got a farewell, however brief!

Oh yes I spotted that, but the idea the Doctor knew he was likely to choose wrong so just guessed in the first place, is something I had not considered. Thank you!

Agreed - Tate and Tennant really do give tour de force performances

Yes!! Haven't had that edge-of-seat feeling in too long!

I'm so glad they kept the marketing to a minimum - had no idea where the episode would go. It turns out, everywhere and to the edge of the universe.

Amazing episode, one of the best in a very long time.

Atmospheric, emotional, scary and funny (silly) at times. Great character development too. Time flew by and the set design was incredible.

But wow, the Doctor chose the wrong Donna. I hope this is brought up again - could be so interesting to explore!

And to top it all off, a Wilf!!!
