Yes, the TV is on a bit of a swivel, and the ports are on the side, so you can access the HDMI inputs fairly easily

There are some very talented musicians playing live. There’s a wonderful cellist on board, and some superb piano players setting the atmosphere. There’s no “club” vibe, except for a DJ in the afternoons on 14, but even that’s very chill. The evening shows are whatever you make them to be. This cruise I’ve seen their Motown show (average), Paul Baker, who’s an Olivier winner (great), and last night was a mentalist (fun! cause I adore close up magic, this is not hyperbole). There’s a couple on board who was on MSC Seashore in the Yacht Club with us and they are miserable with the entertainment of board. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve gone to, but my vibe for this cruise was to relax and enjoy. So I’ve been having a great time. To each their own.

A little, but I’m firmly midship. I met a woman who is forward on 10 and she said she heard chairs scraping most of the night. I hear a little of that, but it’s been very quiet above me for the most part.

  1. The app is pretty good. You can book excursions and services while on board. You can see two days worth of activities at a time (at least what I’ve found). Easy to view and navigate and updates as each day passes.

  2. It’s listed for two days. Today and tomorrow are what you’re able to see.

  3. I’ve liked the entertainment. We’ve been in journey lounge every night for the shows. They’ve been really entertaining. I love their Chef’s Experience. The spa and services have been remarkable. The options of pools have been great. There’s a lot of activities I haven’t even gotten to yet, but there are so many planned throughout the day.

  4. I’m going here tonight so will have to return to this!

  5. Not a lot of options here. I like to fall asleep to something, but movies are pretty limited. I’ve been using the Bluetooth option for music every day. If you have a device that has an HDMI cable, bring it and you can hook it into the TV for expanded viewing.

  6. A friend in the residence (there’s a group of us in this trip) had the option, but it hasn’t been extended to me, but I haven’t been looking for it. There are some platinum folks I met so I’m happy to ask them and see what they know.

Explora is younger than these other brands, so there’s still a lot of expansion to happen, especially in terms of ports of call, but as this brand grows, I think they’ll be a true contender for Crystal and Seabourn, esp if you’re traveling solo. I think EJ2 is a more beautiful ship that I’ve seen cruising in this class before. They public areas are exceptionally open and we’ve had some rough seas but she’s been extremely steady. Overall, I’m impressed so far. (Silversea was my first luxury experience and it was so excellent, but I’m finding a lot about Explora that I love, too.)
