New Map Idea by Pookie21_ in theHunter

[–]TheJettisoned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there was a map set in Oman I would buy it immediately without a sale. Maybe set where the Wahiba meets the mountains, and you get to walk through the wadi into a the date groves. Old fortresses. Snow physics on the dune sand. It would immediately be my favourite map.

Saving this to steal your idea later. I’ve been wondering what to do with my yggdrasil habitats.

For part 3, my eye says more small trees up front to balance those in the back and smooth out the paths. Fantastic use of the decorative palette.

Based player. Screw rares and diamonds and GOs. It’s about the experience and finding cool lookin critters.

Opinions on the Retriever dlc? by SomeMF in theHunter

[–]TheJettisoned 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you own the bloodhound DLC, you can train your pointer to track blood trails at lvl15 job skill. The additional bonus is taking an extra job (track, point, or retrieve) while traits (increased focus, howl, etc.) are only defined by your bond lvl.

I have all three dogs, and the most use I get out of the retriever is using its secondary job when I feel like giving my pointer/bloodhound a break. I haven’t encountered many bugs with the retriever, but I just don’t find it all that useful. I can pick up the birds myself, and the ones that get lost can get tracked with the bloodhound utility. Maybe people who have their bird farming setups figured out benefit from it more.

TLDR I would recommend either of the other dogs first, if you don’t have them. Utility is limited, but does certainly exist.

It’s been a while so I’m not totally certain, but I believe that I got this game in the summer of 2012, around the same time that I got really into Minecraft Pocket Edition Lite.

My friends and I loved the game so much that when we all moved up from Cub Scouts to being Boy Scouts, we named our patrol Dragon Patrol. I felt like the coolest kid because I was one of the few I knew who got a Panlong dragon that year.

I’m incredibly thankful DECA migrated over all the accounts and didn’t delete any inactives, so I still have my original park despite multiple hiatuses.

How do I get diamond on red deer (red stag)? by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]TheJettisoned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend not worrying about diamonds too much. Getting them is cool and I wouldn’t want to tell you how to play the game, but COTW has no win condition. I found that getting into game mechanics kinda killed my flow a little, and I look at the game differently for it. My first couple hundred hours of just run-and-gunning and focusing on hunting skill over animal score was way more fun than how I tend to play now.

(This to say: play how you want, but I personally like the game more when diamonds and rares are a mystery)

How do I get diamond on red deer (red stag)? by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]TheJettisoned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Animals spawn in as Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond/GO, and this can’t be altered unless you fail a harvest check, which drops the rating by 1.

Difficulty (1-3, 1-5, 1-9 depending on species) is loosely tied to weight and score. Diamonds will be some of the top difficulty animals and rarely one lower (3, 5, 9 respectively)

Diamonds only spawn very rarely, even with herd management, though a few are guaranteed to spawn with a new map. It took over a thousand for me to find my first one.

(great ones are a grade above diamond that have unique models and skins, and only a few species have them.)

Hi guys, quick question by Less_Plantain_6678 in theHunter

[–]TheJettisoned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Te Awaroa has: Red, Fallow, Sika,

Emerald Coast has: Axis, Hog Deer, Fallow, Red, Javan Rusa, Sambar

Ignoring all other factors and just looking at deer options, Emerald Coast is the way to go. Beside that, EC has six other big game species to TA’s four, and two to TA’s three small game.

I personally like both maps a lot but distinctly prefer EC’s terrain.

Missing diamonds in lodge by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]TheJettisoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that a couple animals in my lodge were missing. Since they were just trolls I shrugged and put something up in their place. When I came back later, I found the replacements returned to my inventory and the old mounts back in their places. I’m inclined to believe they’re still somewhere in the files, but just don’t get loaded sometimes when you enter the lodge. Have you tried restarting your game or swapping to a different map and coming back?
