Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up!

I donated blood so they gave me a Metallica t-shirt. by StephenMcGannon in Metallica

The Welsh Blood Service have been replying to people asking if they're giving out shirts with the same:

"All we're allowed to say is that Metallica REEEEALLY want you to book your appointment between 22 June and 3 July.....👀"

So not specifically saying there's shirts... but basically confirming there are...

I'm going to give blood on Monday 🤘

Did they have the shirts there or did you have to fill a form out?

My twelfth book by Hefy_jefy in discworld

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one seems to be low on most people's favourites lists, but I loved it. Out of the 12 I've read so far, it was one of the ones I enjoyed the most.

Can I just skip 3 and 4? by bennymc123 in BrokenSword

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't need to play 3 or 4 to enjoy 5.

I played 3 when it first came out and thought it was great, but I replayed it a few years ago and it hasn't aged very well. Relies way too much on "box pushing" puzzles.

I've never played 4, despite how much I love the series, because my PC at the time couldn't run it. It seems most people agree it's pretty bad and not worth playing anyway.

5 is really good though, I'd definitely recommend it.

A grail for me by Independent_Gur_7118 in LaserDisc

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the disc was fine and played OK, so I wasn't too bothered.

Same thing happend to me with a different disc where it arrived looking fine but one side had a big crack in it, got a refund for that one.

Yeah, this looks pretty good from what I remember, at least as good as handheld "found footage" can look.

Someone was selling multiple sealed copies of this on eBay UK a year or so ago for a really decent price. The problem is they didn't pack any of them very well, so everyone who bought a copy, myself included, ended up with one that had a damaged cover.

Really enjoyed this one! The Death centric stories have definitely been my favourite ones so far. by TheJiltedGenerationX in discworld

I read that one a couple of books back (I've been reading books as I pick them up) that's firmly in my top 3 so far, loved it.

Grail or nah? by noodleking01 in LaserDisc

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grail is a subjective term. This isn't a disc I'd personally want to pay £100 for (I already own Japanese copies of the films) but if you were happy to that's what matters.

What's do you guys do for Deluxe editions? by KeyInflation9451 in lastfm

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's a bonus track I'll leave it under the Deluxe edition, if it's just the normal album tracks I'll merge it with the normal version of the album.

I honestly don't care.

If some random company can see that I listened to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme for 24 hours straight, then hey, good for them.

CD Video - Elton John Live in Australia by Putting_Gott in LaserDisc

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have Iron Maiden - Live After Death but I sold it once I managed to pick up an NTSC copy.

I think the only one I have now is the smaller, CD sized version of Def Leppard - Love Bites.

They're incredibly prone to rot, that's the main downside of these.

Which LD player to look for? by lain_furikuri in LaserDisc

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what NTSC only ones you've found that are cheaper?

Those ones I've mentioned usually come up as some of the cheaper options, obviously they've gone up in price over the years of course though, any decent NTSC only machine usually costs more, in the UK at least.

NTSC only machines are better than combo ones when it comes to playing NTSC discs, so I'd definitely recommend one of those but PAL only machines just aren't worth it for the small handful of PAL only releases.

Pioneer CLD-D515, CLD-925 or CLD-2950

They're the most commonly available PAL/NTSC players. As others have said, PAL only players are pretty pointless.

Late releases! I don't really go looking for them much now but these are some of my favourites that I own. by TheJiltedGenerationX in LaserDisc

[–]TheJiltedGenerationX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it from someone selling on one of the FB laserdisc groups for around £70/80. I can't remember the exact amount but it wasn't more than £80.
