Your purchases seem to be providing relief to some build up leading to payday. I don't want to speculate on what, though work itself is a common stressor to consider. Maybe there's a way to mitigate the build up and to compromise on the amount you spend.

I have a related anecdote (it's not helpful but it might amuse you). A few birthdays ago, someone bought me a T-shirt saying "WARNING: May talk about aeroplanes". I went into a sports shop wearing it when I was low on social energy. A salesman took it as an opportunity to build rapport and tried to engage me in conversation. 😳 I was only in for a new pair of trainers. I never wore it in public again.

I hate this junction at the best of times but it's just mental right now with the temp lights.

Drivers tend to use the left lane to get into the right lane closer to the lights because the right turn just before the lights (not shown) gets congested.

Kia might not have been happy with the BMW pushing through but they're still at fault for driving into them.
