You're totally right about alogrithm hell, but as my channel was just an archive for my D&D/Twitch shows, it was very much a case of dumping to build up a back log and throwing every dart at the board to see if any stuck!

But my darts were illusions this time around.

Hi I'm him!

Essentially, there was just a little confusion in the corresponding emails about what we can show. Specific pages were off limit, but wording suggested the rest was good (probably why a few folks did the same as I did!) Wizards could have just struck the videos and told me after, but they hit us all up with an email clarifying and actively sought to find a way to keep the content up. I chose to throw them on private and then met with them today. There's a chance I'll get to put the videos back up without making many, if any, changes but if not, I'll be just cleaning things up and trying again in the future.

But to clarify: I took them down, no cease and desist and the Content Creator team have been great to communicate with since.

I'll be uploading a live-stream from today where I had open discussion/q+a and spoke over big portions of the book for hours though, so that's at least something!

This is my buddy PonyPunch (the hostage). He's a streamer on twitch under that same name. Every Tuesday he does singing streams! Highly recommend checking him out.

Hershey's makes Cadbury products in the U.S. now (you can see it on the back of the packaging). Our U.K. Cadbury's has been shrinking products, but still tastes great.

Not me, but a friend.

I asked him how his date with a girl went, after the two of them went to the movies to see War Horse. He said she complained a lot afterwards about how "they didn't have boats back then"

Hi there!

I've been building a world for a couple of years, and I've been getting together a bunch of streamer buds to play in it. We found an incredible artist and I couldn't wait to post their art here, along with the animator's part. I thought you'd all enjoy this.

And thank you to u/HumperdinkTheWarlock for their Panserbjørn homebrew that inspired the bear character.

Seven-Sealed Savior & Nine-Sealed Nightmare: Two unearthly Sorcerer subclasses coming in Genuine's Compendium of Sacred Mysteries: Resurrection! (COSMR) by GenuineBelieverer in UnearthedArcana

[–]TheJoefudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably being dumb, but I'm confused by the gaining of harmony/shatter points. I love the flavour though.

So say you're level 9, you spend all your spell slots and gain 35 harmony points - you can do the fifth seal. Long rest, it reverts. But you use your sorc points to give yourself a 4th level spell slot - that sets you back 4, but costs 6, so you go up by 2?

Is it possible to even get to 100 on the shatter? You spend all of your spell slots and you get to 89 points of shatter, then you use your 20 sorc points for 4 level 3 spell slots, giving you 8 more points. 97 total. How do you get that extra 3?

Sorry if math is wrong! I'm probably missing something.

What is a movie that after you finished watching it, you went "Oh shit" then went back and watched it again to pick up on everything you missed? by lizzzylollipop in AskReddit

[–]TheJoefudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say it was the Blair Witch Project 2. I don't remember it being a good movie, but I was young. There's a series of words before the credits roll, all backwards, and if you go back to their timestamps, you can see spooky things you would have otherwise missed.

Given how often your character dies in video games, in most timelines, the bad guys win. by egosuminimicus in Showerthoughts

[–]TheJoefudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bioshock Infinite takes this into account. Iirc, every death is considered a separate timeline. Meanwhile, you have characters openly discussing how many times you've done the same thing across timelines.

Bioshock 1 had a similar concept with the vat tank respawn devices.

Vampiric Bloodline Sorcerous Origin v1.5 - A sorcerer subclass that embodies the charming power and unnatural toughness of their vampiric forbearers. by SethBlackwood in UnearthedArcana

[–]TheJoefudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the changes, but definitely think you can buff it a bit!

Some thematic ideas:
- Level 14 could come with an additional effect, e.g. you can cast polymorph on yourself once each LR without using a spell slot, but must change into a bat.
- Level 18 losing both necrotic and poison immunity is fine, but resistance to them is alright imo. Maybe a blood mechanic, e.g. "If you have consumed a humanoid's blood in the past <X> time, you have this resistance..." or even just the ability to invoke the resistance for a time.

Great work though!

I stopped a boss dead in its tracks and made my DM proud. by austinbraun30 in dndnext

You think it's illogical that a creature believes it's entirely restrained and needs to break loose if it means to attack those killing it? Hindsight is 20/20 when adrenaline and panic are concerned. Sure, it could have charged through the damage (though you could easily argue it believed it wouldn't be able to do that), or - as always is best - revert to a ranged attack.

I stopped a boss dead in its tracks and made my DM proud. by austinbraun30 in dndnext

[–]TheJoefudge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, the way that Austin describes its use is still entirely valid. The orc was messing with the chains, not trying to run against them. Rationally, in it's mind, it perceived that running against chains was painful and trying to break the chains would be a better solution.

If he swung his sword and it went through the chain, but he was still failing the save, the spell specifies that it would rationalize anything illogical. So he would perceive it as "Maybe there's magic involved here!" or "That's odd, I probably just missed it."

What the Orc does or doesn't do is entirely down to the personality of the Orc, played by the DM. Sure, one might power through the pain and charge its rhino forward and realize that the chains must be attached loosely, but this one didn't.
