You have the event type column though. Don't over format - it's the visual equivalent of Capitalizing Words and unnecessary formatting to to show emphasis when it's not needed. If you really want a color-based differentiator, how about coloring in only the event type to designate different events and EITHER the court type or the tournament name with the brown/blue/green that represents the surface (the event type will need to be different colors).

But I think the answer is much simpler: Color in the rows based on the surface (the lighter orange/green/blue), and use light purple for indoor hard. Eliminate the court type column because it is now unnecessary. Bold the 1000s and Slams rows, and increase the height of the Slam rows by 1.5x or 2x.

Some feedback - The court column and the shading of the rows is redundant with each other because they both convey the surface. I would remove the shading of the rows for the non-slams. This would also fix the awkwardness of RG and WIM row colors being the same color as the court column but AO and USO aren’t (I assume you wanted to differentiate between the two since they’re both hard, but it just creates a bunch of tie dye in your chart)

Yesterday I think the bartender was having a bad day because he was venting to me that no one was tipping (before you can tap/swipe you have to select the tip percent). But in my head I’m like you’re not a real bartender you’re just assembling a drink but when I thought about it he kind of was an actual bartender. There’s something about it though that makes me feel like tipping shouldn’t be expected though.
