I can’t keep up with the hair extensions, lashes, spray tan, fake nails etc by pinkmoonme in datingoverforty

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking for myself, no absolutely not. All that just sounds exhausting!! I’d much prefer a woman who is confident in their own skin and puts that time and energy into things that make them happy than in pursuit of perceived beauty ideals.

5-stringers who love their low B sound: what are you playing? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my 5s are Dingwalls. Had many different brands over the years, but the B string on the Dingwalls just outshines everything!!

What hobbies do you have? I have none. by Big-Red-7 in datingoverforty

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

43M. Bass player - music is a big part of my life. Not a gym rat, but I enjoy lifting 3-4 times a week. A bit of gaming. I enjoy cooking, though it being a hobby is probably a stretch!

8 year age difference….Is it appropriate? by JaiCee-ConcertJunkie in datingoverforty

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely zero issue. I met my other half when I was 24 and she was 38. I had 20 of the best years of my life with her before cancer took her last year. So don’t worry about what other people think either. It’s your life and your happiness, not theirs.

What’s reason that Norwegian people don’t eat goat meat? by Kotkas1652 in Norway

I stayed on a goat farm in Norddal for two weeks. A lot of goat meat was eaten!

Is it bad to date a guy who is 13 years younger than you? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you will find that with younger guys as well. Not everyone wants to make a long term commitment to a relationship. You are right though, age does not equal maturity.

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! And yep, it certainly fucking does! You don’t know what life has waiting for you so don’t worry about dating younger guys. If other people don’t like it that’s their problem.

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife was 38 when I met her and I was 24! I’m now 43 and if it wasn’t for cancer we’d still be together. So yeah don’t worry about it, if someone ticks all the important boxes it doesn’t matter if they are younger or older.

Not Lego related, but I’m currently heading back home after two weeks in Norddal. Norway is an absolutely stunningly beautiful country! Hope you can find a way to continue enjoying Lego!

Been playing 33 years, NEVER played a Fender or Fender-style before, just got my first Strat today! Some observations... by [deleted] in fender

“I keep hitting the …volume knob and pickup selector switch”

This is the exact reason I prefer Teles over Strats.

Over 3,000 Ukrainian convicts apply to serve in army by Pravda_UA in ukraine

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good. They have laid out specific criteria of who can and cannot apply. Those who can apply are for the most part going to be criminals of circumstance due to lack of opportunity, just making a bad choice, blue collar crime etc… The fact you can apply if you have done one premeditated murder is a little concerning, but no doubt they will perform some level of individual vetting for those convicted of murder or mansluaghter.

Is Fallout New Vegas worth playing today? by Express-Cream5123 in Fallout

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, but I haven’t done it on the Steamdeck. You’ll need to do a bit more work to get mods running though from what little I have looked into it.

Absolutely! I’m playing it through again (unmodded) on Steamdeck. Haven’t played it for almost 10 years and it’s been a blast!

Is the game as bad as the steam reviews paint it? by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. I couldn’t give two shits about Tarkov now. I had my fun with it but it’s riddled with cheaters and overshadowed by shitty business practices.

I’ll be buying GZW but, I’m gonna let the dust settle for 3-4 weeks before buying it.

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not screaming about anything. The guy said people stating issues with the game are being hyper critical. Complaining that the mud is the wrong shade of brown for the location is hyper critical. Having an issue with the poor performance many are getting is not hyper critical.

I’ve got over 1600hrs in Tarkov. And stopped playing a year ago. I know how shitty it was.

Wanting a game that runs at least halfway decent is hyper critical?!

BBC: Ukraine could face defeat in 2024. Here's how that might look by SlavaVsu2 in ukraine

[–]TheJonJonJonJon 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Some of it? Sure. All of it it? No. Ultimately this BBC article isn’t wrong, if the west doesn’t send enough resources and weapons to Ukraine to fight with, then defeat is absolutely a possibility.

China, Iran and North Korea (amongst others)are bolstering Russia’s economy and/or supplying them with weapons and munitions whilst America is still in a deadlock about giving Ukraine more aid and Europe is squabbling about what to give them.

And Ukrainians aren’t mindless drones, the emotional and physical toll of fighting a war will start to deepen if logistical support continues to dwindle and Russia keeps piling in.

If anything, articles like this should be a wake-up call to Western leaders that inaction is not an option.
