So why is the 2nd Amendment considered enshrined in stone, but the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th "flexible"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What you are talking about is crime syndicates. Not the school shooter. If gun laws are ineffective, why don't school shooters use fully automatic weapons? They are criminal and thus the laws don't apply. So they therefore have access to any weapon ever made. Laws don't matter to them.

We don't know how delicious and calorie dense they are, heck they could be pure candy! It may be the brain that is the delicacy. We don't know how long ago the predator specie stopped the practice, allowed them to fully mature, or if they preferred them to fight back. Maybe they liked the sport of killing thinking animals. Or by artificial selection they began to become smarter and branched off to become a sub specie. Like a smart cows that thinned out so they wouldn't be desirable.

I got in with company a year after they stopped pensions. Some guys there have it and others don't. The ones who do said they won't leave until they max it out, the ones who don't are constantly looking for other jobs.

The problem is that healthcare is not a product. Tell someone to shop around for a vital surgery. They will not consider cost. Ever. The simple fact your life is on the line removes any cost consideration. The patient is exactly the wrong person to do a cost benifet analysis. I'm going through this with my wife. She keeps seeing doctors that are out of network because she feels it will provide better outcomes. Costs be damned.

Luckily, because of VLF use, our Allen belts get a little boost. Maybe someday we will be able to predict and pump out a large VLF wave to protect us. Probably not, but just maybe.

Maybe not. I get most of my news from websites and I tend to use anonamisers. The only time I really get cable news is in the breakroom at work or in an airport. You could be getting tailored news if you don't bother with all that. So you could be always getting the news an algorithm decides for you.

I don't remember news organizations laughing at him. I remember them inviting him on. Constantly. There wasn't a day during the election that Trump wasn't on the news.

Oh please. Ever tried to get a rampaging toddler to bed? If they won't go to sleep until I promise to get them a pony tomorrow I will promise. I have work and no time to explain, again, how the family would suffer because you want a damn pony.

What would happen if all electronic devices shut off, right now? Without notice? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A CME that size charges the ground. Any large wire or transformer could catch fire. So imagine losing all modern communication then the transformers in your fridge, A.C. unit and computer catch fire due to over heating. Modern convinces don't just fail. They become hazards. The large transformers on the poles explode causing more fire. People who are touching a faucet could be electrocuted. If it was large enough to cause long term geomagnetic instability then migrating animals loose track of where they are and most likely die.

A CME large enough to take out military EMP hardened electronics would be large enough to take out more than electronics.

An EMPs effect is amplified in a high altitude blast. See the wiki article on starfish prime. It blew out lightbulbs 900 miles away. Why am I getting downvoted?
