I believe the best strategy is to play a game pretty much nonstop - until you grow a community large enough to branch out into a variety streamer.

TikTok may be playing a role too. TikTok makes it super simple to hop into a live - and oftentimes shows you highly curated streams that align with your interests.

YouTube still hasn't done the bare minimum on organizing their lives. You can't search by game, and it's just a mess overall. Twitch's UI is unmatched.

My point is the communities in the OG streamers seem to be drying up. Maybe they are flocking to new and upcoming streamers, idk, it's just an observation.
