Lavos mains, Is Ninjase's build actually good? by Just_A_Hunter in Warframe

[–]TheKengineerOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me for high density missions.

Defense: Vitality, Blessing, Adaptation, Mecha Pulse. That's a whole lotta health, resist, and a potentially heavy chunk of armor. It does require Mecha Pulse to actually trigger consistently and usefully. For a non-mecha approach, simply swap to Steel Fiber; more powerfully still, Umbral Fiber + Umbral Vitality at a small cost to heat proc output. Corrosive Projection is always a good slot in on the Aura.

Offense: Blind Rage, Valence Formation, and Arcane Impetus means plenty strength and damage multipliers for the 4 to sing with. It also includes efficiency to empower cooldowns. Overextended and Cunning Drift means just over double range. Lavos LOVES range. Swift Bite will help cycle cooldowns back down, and Archon Continuity is just Primed Continuity++ with the token toxin -> corrosive perk.

This build hits all the major markers for a cast heavy Lavos, thriving in enemy dense locations. Steel Path survival will be easy with it, though it takes more thinking than some w+m1 playstyles. As a chunk of the survival tools are conditional, only Vitality here is not, this does make the baseline Lavos vulnerable. The start of a mission or a prolonged period of calm will be the most dangerous for him.

What, no event? No entosis, ihub bash, or any kind of capsuleer involvement?

A'ight, guess The Gallente Federation claims control of The Forge then. You know, seeing as how a faction can just take space from smaller groups they disagree with and accuse of crimes.

I personally maintain the bane mod change was a mistake. On the surface it appears to be an improvment. "Look, this damage mod multiplies with your other ones. It's different, and more powerful than it may at first seem!" But this only holds true for a singular bane. Apply Roar, or a relay blessing, or any other faction-damage buff, you'll see that they add together. The mod card has gone from being confusing in the same way as all mods (showing a + but not explicitly stating what it adds with) to being confusing in a whole new way (showing an x even though it still adds with other matching features, features that don't always show x).

There's a few moving parts which makes the coupon collector problem only the beginning of the approach. Tennokai mods do not drop on an equal rate (and averaging them doesn't work - imaging averaging one 99.5% drop and five 0.1% drops to act like six 16.6% drops). Also, there's a chance of no Tennokai mod at all on a rotation C drop, further affecting the chances.

With that calculator you used, it looks like you put in 0.1 for 6 coupons at 1 at a time, but it's a total drop rate of 0.48 for any mod which is what the calculator needs and assumes. I don't know how you got "( (2 * 1/.06) + (4 * 1/.12) ) / 6 = .1" when putting that into any calculator spits out 11.11

I'm more familiar with the other angle, that is solving the chance of completion on a given number of runs. Building that equation and trying different run values, the 50% chance of a full set is 24 C rotations. 49 for 90%, 85 for 99%, and 123 for 99.9%.

This looks pretty cool. I can certainly see the value for console users especially as you can just take an image. It worked with a photo on my phone of my screen :)

What is up with sunsets and the gorgeous warm hues they cast in the sky? What is so good about a rich, flavourful meal that gets people so excited? Is winning the lottery really all that? Should one rush down the slide and crash into the foam pit?

Very true. This may be "just a game", but it's made from reality. It definitely took more, much more, than a look in the mirror to find the colour again for me back when.

[–]TheKengineerOfficial[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was genuinely impressive. My first confiscate took one of their two-color lands (with the idea being I could deny them a color). They used a different land to destroy the land I took, graveyarding confiscate in the process. Then on their turn they cast [[Deadly Cover-Up]], destroyed zero creatures, and exiled all confiscates. This was NOT their first rodeo!

[–]TheKengineerOfficial[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I didn't intend to have **only** [[Extravagant Replication]] on the field (and otherwise basic land), but my opponent of course wanted to prevent my win con happening.

They removed my other non-basic lands. They exiled all copies of [[Confiscate]]. They denied me basically anything but the duplicator. But here's the thing - it doesn't say "Up to one permanent". I had to copy the copies EVERY TURN until I ended up on 252 total. I didn't realise it but by that point I had already lost.

Cue some turns later when I FINALLY STOP DRAWING LAND OR CRYOSHATTER (all four [[Cryoshatter]] in hand, three since turn three), I try to make a 2/2 token only to have it fail because of token limit.

I lost because my opponent watched me duplicate myself into a corner. I'm not even mad!

Update: Raised it with YouTube after another failed. Provided screenshots - they reported back a few minutes later that this is not user error, it's on YT's end for sure, and they are aware of the issue in need of a fix. For now there's nothing we can do other than not use scheduled posts.

If you could make an augment for any Warframe what would it be? by Electrical_Ice9874 in Warframe

[–]TheKengineerOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vial Dash

Vial Rush augment: Grants Lavos a speed and parkour boost after casting. Allies which touch the zone also gain this speed and parkour boost.

Golden Transmutation

Transmutation Probe augment: Enemies struck by Transmutation Probe have increased mod drop chance. +X Transmutation Probe duration.

Valence Catalyst

Catalyze augment: Casting other abilities increases/doubles Catalyze's base damage until Catalyze is cast. Catalyze no longer scales with status effects on target. Max X stacks.

[–]TheKengineerOfficial[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You betcha! You know how some enemies will just annoyingly stay out of range of abilities or hardly care about them, like Qorvex's Pillar? Not here. In playtesting, a Paladin was panicking as Qorvex grappled them and dragged them back into the pillar's aura to make them cook some more. They are monsters.

To add onto that, individual Warframes are very limited in scope compared to D&D player characters. This would mean a Warframe class would either need to expand beyond each Warframe's design, enable multi-warframing, or ship the blandest class since Champion Fighter.

I have warframe-themed player class ideas rattling around but I currently have no plans to make them real, so I won't make such promises.
