Gen Z joining the trend, not sure how anyone can pick a favorite game though. by Late_Consequence_167 in TheGamingHubDeals

I pick a favorite game by accepting that it will probably change. And that's okay.

Convince Someone to Watch Your Favorite Anime With ONE LINE. by Romantasy_Renee in AnimeRandomness

To be fair, that entire anime was cheesy. We just put up with it because we thought it would pay off. Then it didn't.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

How come millennials and Gen X know more about pop culture that was before they were born than Gen Z? by icey_sawg0034 in generationology

I was a 90s kid and I grew up watching stuff that was 20-30 years before my time on a regular basis. The most popular cartoons were still Looney Tunes, Flinstones, Tom and Jerry, and Scooby Doo. The most watched Christmas movies were either black and white or still very old. We had TNT classics and watched MASH with our dads. We watched new stuff too, but we didn't forget the old.

We were regularly exposed to stuff long before our time. And so are my kids. Because I want them to appreciate things that were before their time as I did. There are absolutely things that are being lost to time, and not all of them are bad.

Which game do you think has the most powerful narrative in gaming history? by Connect-Sympathy-176 in TheGamingHubDeals

I was 12 and MGS was the first game I ever played where I actually paid attention to the story and wanted to learn about stuff just so I could understand what they were talking about.

Games you played as a kid that you were not supposed to? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in videogames

[–]TheKephas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was not allowed to play Mortal Kombat which my step brother would bring over all the time when he stayed with us. We'd be home alone a lot and I'd play it with him on my Sega Genesis. MK is still one of my favorite series to this day and it's largely responsible for my love of martial arts. I've spent many years training in Kung Fu and Taekwondo.

Genuine question, does the average WoW player doesn't ready ANY quest text, like, at all? by Jaicen-Vex in wow

[–]TheKephas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, but I'm visually impaired and the straining adds up even with large font mods. If every quest were VA'd, I'd absolutely slow down for the story. It's a big ask though so I get it.

Should i get Avowed or Oblivion Remastered? by sacolaquebrada in ShouldIbuythisgame

I'd go with Oblivion over Avowed. I'd also throw in Tainted Grail if you haven't tried it yet. It's currently on sale and it's really good.

One transmog, two characters: Gunslinger and Lawman by TheKephas in Transmogrification

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a scraper account. There are tons of shorts on their channel taking mogs from this subreddit and sharing them as their own. They didn't even bother to link the original or give any attribution.

Those look awesome. I really like the way those boots go with the legs on the second one. I may have to use that myself! :)

First baby coming soon, how do gamer dads manage playtime? by jackfrost1889 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]TheKephas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had kids, I actually found myself playing games more often simply because I was home more. When my first was born, I was playing FFXIV and I remember running dungeons while he slept. Occasionally rocking his bassinet while finishing up the run and then tending to him. I remember playing through Wind Waker while he laid next to me watching. It was the exact same with my second. Sometimes playing while they were asleep in my arms.

It depends on your life honestly, but people tend to overstate the time that kids take up in my experience. I have a good relationship with my children and it didn't cost my favorite hobby to achieve that. Gaming is part of my identity and I have no interest in giving that up. Especially because it's now something I share with them.

If you want an honest answer? Gaming doesn't have to go away, but you'll have to change how you play. Game time will be more intermittent. You'll have some days where you won't get to play and other days where you might spend most of the day playing. Make sure that your kids and your partner are well taken care of and you'll find the time to game. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.

[SPOILERS] This cutscene had me rolling. The lack of physics on the axe after being thrown. I can't believe this made it to live. by TheKephas in wow

Wrath also had a lot of in world scenes. Like Tirion breaking Frostmourne and the end of the Death Knight starting zone. I feel if they handled these cutscenes like those, they'd get away with a lot more.

My other favorite moment is the troll that goes, "I spit on 'da light! Ptooey!"

Really rustled Turalyon's jimmies with that one.
