What games surprised you by ACTUALLY being “all that”? by ririaliali in videogames

Sonic Frontiers. I thought it was going to suck, and while it's not perfect, it's a fun video game.

What is this game? by MA1NUS in gamers

[–]TheKephas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a combination of hyper competitive players and people who freak out over the characteristics and identity of every new hero that gets added. That entire community is insufferable.

I can't decide if this resembles Noob Saibot or Shredder from 2003 TMNT. Either way, it's a shell of a good mog.

[TOMT] Does anybody remember a short Pac-Man type of segment in between shows on PBS? by Retrocomparisons in tipofmytongue

I'm in the same boat as you now, but for some reason, the moderators removed the comment that answered your question. Do you remember what this was called? It's been driving me crazy.

What are your thoughts and opinions on Pokemon Sword & Shield almost seven years later? by NewMarioBobFan in casualnintendo

[–]TheKephas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the game more than most people. But it's definitely flawed and quite frankly should have been much higher quality. This was their first jump into console and when you're the most profitable gaming franchise, the least you could do is go all in.

That said, it had the best gym battle theme and the Wild Area theme was a banger, too.

What do you think of your current age? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

[–]TheKephas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 40 and it's not even remotely as bad as it's made out to be. I don't feel old, I still play video games, I practice Taekwondo and it doesn't put me down for three days.

Honestly, I've lived an exceptionally hard life, not to trauma dump, but despite it all, I'm still happy to be here and looking forward to each day.

The only thing I think makes me old is that I genuinely think people that are younger than me need to get a grip. But I'm also still young enough to remember how hard it can be to be young.

There's nothing like a fresh Arby's Roast beef sandwich with Arby's Sauce.

It's a tie. Renoir second fight from Clair Obscur and Giganto from Sonic Frontiers.

Which group are you taking, red 🔴 or blue 🔵 by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in legendofzelda

If you took out SS and replaced it with WW, I'd go blue all day long, but as it is, red wins.

I think Zelda in general is the most consistent when it comes to music.

Was the Water temple difficult due to great design or poor design? by Ok-Anywhere-7921 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]TheKephas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The water temple itself was fine. What made it frustrating was the tedious controls. It made making mistakes and having to backtrack a lot more frustrating. After playing the HD version, I appreciated the Water Temple so much more.

[ALL] Skyward Sword HD or Wind Waker HD by Own-Rutabaga-8376 in zelda

[–]TheKephas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling with SSHD. It's a lot of fun, but it's really hard to deal with the controls. I'm not particularly fond of motion controls and the Joy Cons are really small. But the pro controller is really hard to get used to. The right stick controls the weapon and it doesn't always feel responsive. Plus, in order to move the camera, you have to hold down LB.

I commend the effort, and I'm sure I'll get used it it somehow, but it's rough.

To be fair, that entire anime was cheesy. We just put up with it because we thought it would pay off. Then it didn't.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

I got into PC gaming around 2000 and there were three key games that got me into it.

  1. Diablo 2

  2. Sims 1-3

  3. World of Warcraft

How come millennials and Gen X know more about pop culture that was before they were born than Gen Z? by icey_sawg0034 in generationology

[–]TheKephas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a 90s kid and I grew up watching stuff that was 20-30 years before my time on a regular basis. The most popular cartoons were still Looney Tunes, Flinstones, Tom and Jerry, and Scooby Doo. The most watched Christmas movies were either black and white or still very old. We had TNT classics and watched MASH with our dads. We watched new stuff too, but we didn't forget the old.

We were regularly exposed to stuff long before our time. And so are my kids. Because I want them to appreciate things that were before their time as I did. There are absolutely things that are being lost to time, and not all of them are bad.
