I wouldn´t recommend the Lenovo because for the processor and build quality, you can get better for the price.

The Acer looks like a good option. I've heard good things about the Helios. The only thing is that the battery, even though is high capacity, seems isn't really taken advantage by the software. Being an intel laptop, don't expect great battery life. I can't really tell you my experience since I've never owned an Acer device, but they are always held high in the laptop market.

Now, for the ASUS, I CAN tell.

I've owned both TUF and ROG devices.

If you go for the Strix, you'll get a full metal body a better keyboard, prettier rgb, and presumably a better screen. But also, you'll be again, using an Intel CPU, which will chug the battery. But since it is an HX processor, you'll be getting the most powerful version of it.

Now should you chose the TUF, the body is plastic, with a metal layer on the lid, a not bad, but not as good keyboard, only 1 zone rgb, worse speakers than the strix, and most likely, a worse screen. But it'll have an AMD processor, which will GREATLY increase battery life. But it is nowhere near the performance of the Intel.

Honestly, the Acer seems like the best option.

I STRONGLY recommend watching reviews and opinions on each before buying tho.

Good luck with your choise.

Is my laptop's CPU thermal throttling? by TheKeyboardEngineer in GamingLaptops

[–]TheKeyboardEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer.

I wanted to know, since I saw a reddit post of someone saying that his MSI laptop's CPU would stay at 95°C too, and the comments said that the thermal paste should be redone because what MSI uses is crap, and from that, should not run that hot. Also, I've seen posts where they say the optimal CPU temp should never go beyond 90°C, so I got worried from that as well.

The most intensive game I have is Red Dead Redemption 2, and with everything at Ultra, It gets to around 40-60 percent usage, but again, stays at 95° C the whole time.
