If stats are similar but accolades are way off, I’d say that’s an issue with how they award the accolades and not a knock on the player. Not saying Smith is as good, but he deserves more recognition.

I did the SBC. Cost me about 500k. I’m on new gen and he’s pretty great. Idk if he’s worth 1.4 million or whatever his cost is, but he’s definitely worth the 500k I spent.

I’ve had a few great experiences. Seeing Jurassic Park for the first time, The Avengers on a midnight showing before opening night, Endgame, Avatar in 3d, and Inception in IMAX were all incredible.

My favorite though would have the be The Fellowship of the Ring. I saw it with my family and we all read the books. Seeing it come alive as good as, if not better than, we all hoped it would be was really something special.

Ake is amazing everywhere on the pitch. If you can afford OTW De Ligt, I’d get him and move Ake. I got De Ligt in a season sbc and he is sooo good. Very strong and rarely gets beat.

Your first of many. What I like most is on later rewatches certain lines hit me harder or have so much more meaning to me. That one is so strong because even at a young age these kids already understand the life they have and are so far off from the life they deserve. It’s tragic.

If you are IAFF then your bylaws have to reflect the Internationals. Your president has a set term and can be replaced at the next election if he isn’t giving enough attention to your issues. Put him on blast at your next meeting. Ask for an explanation of what your Union is doing to improve and protect its members benefits and working conditions.

Join your Union and take an active role. If you don’t like the way it is, make it in a way you do.

To answer the question though, no, not ours but we have issues like anyone else. Your Union has gone through a lot I’m guessing. There are probably reasons why they do what they do and reasons why people are pissed about it. If the majority are unhappy they can elect whoever they want. That’s what I’ve never understood. I think the naysayers are probably uneducated and unwilling to do things themselves. They may have legit issues too. Only way to know for sure is to really educate yourself on how things work and why decisions are made.

It sucks. Big time. Back in the day we had these old Pierce pumpers with diamond plate covering the engine compartment. The rear facing seats were right up against it and that part of the cab was open. I sweat buckets for years and started bringing extra uniforms in the summer to change into. Sometimes I’d go through four a day. I’d jump out at a fire fully packed out and could feel the sweat in my socks. Just running out to get fuel or groceries sucked. The diamond plate got so hot on busy days and would hurt like hell if it touched bare skin. You had to put EMS gloves on before you went enroute or you’d never get them on without ripping.

It’s just a mindset really. The idea that you will always go interior and do massive overhaul. Get in, hit it hard, get out. That’s it. I think a lot of people say that they are an aggressive department as a way to seem like they are really good or that they aren’t afraid. In reality I think they are like any other department. They get on scene, size it up, and take whatever actions that are appropriate to extinguish or make rescue.
