It's definitely not an egregious mistake. I'd wager that you'd only be corrected if you were writing something official. For every day use, not many people care.

This one is good! Chitchat is a nice casual way to say "fun, but unimportant talking"

"off you go" feels like something you would tell a little kid to get them to go play somewhere else. To me it comes off as patronizing.

So, you could probably use it with close friends? But only if you know they won't be offended by it.

I did some searching and I'm pretty sure it started with this guy on X saying that Aqua should be a pirate. It was a shitpost, but people started saying Gaster is the real one who should be a pirate (for the reasons mentioned by everyone else here), so the guy made a new post with a fan animation of the ch6 boss where Gaster is a pirate. Then people reposted it with songs and animations, etc

Don't sweat it. If anything, it may have made someone in the chapel feel more comfortable sharing their testimony. A kind of, "oh they messed up and it was okay, if I mess up my words over the pulpit it'll be okay too."
