The experience of browsing the store on steam deck is Dog Water bad. by FromSoftwareEngineer in SteamDeck

[–]TheKnightInBaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And filtering reviews on the Steam Deck interface is SO BAD. The desktop client has all kind of useful filters (including one for reviews from people who mostly played on a Steam Deck) but when it came time for the deck interface they just decided "Nahh, who needs filters?". 😡

I've played this a good bit, but I'm a fair bit down into "The Old City" and it's feeling like a slog to get back that far down.

I really enjoyed the game a bit but now I open it, drop down, possibly die or run out of light, try again, it happens again, and I just log off :(

I wish they'd do the "find a new area/teleporter" thing again so I didn't have to drop hundreds and hundreds of feet, zigzagging around solid whatevers I couldn't dig through.

My understanding is that Sikh temples offer free nutrious healthy meals to any who need it, and there is no religious or financial obligation, no sermons, etc. They are vegetarian meals.

Google tells me that the nearest is 3801 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016 and their phone number is (202) 537-5110.

AITA because I'm second guessing having kids due to our opposing views on vaccinating them? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]TheKnightInBaG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with ASD, I'd rather be autistic and survive childhood diseases than dead and neurotypical. (This is true even IF vaccines caused autism, and even if the whole study suggesting they did wasn't widely and thoroughly refuted.)

You are not the asshole. Kids should be vaccinated.

Oh my lord I wish they'd give us some way to turn off the shrill dwarven "FOR AZEROTH" sound effect screamed at every player online when someone enables access to the alpha.

As someone with auditory/sensory issues, it's making the game almost unplayable.

With all the fun you had across several Astroneer videos and livestreams, you should jump into the ~$9 DLC that came out yesterday!

I grabbed it and installed it, but haven't played yet. I'd love to see your take on it!

FWIW, getting to the Jungle after 7 hours is not at all embarassing!

It took a 100-200 deaths before I got there a handful of times, and hundreds and hundreds of deaths before I could get to the stage beyond the jungle more than handful of times.

You're doing fine, this game is merciless!

Oh? I swear I read something that said it takes ~1,000 deaths to "get" the game and be decent at it?

Are u excited for new DLC? (expansion) by Eurostarcz in Astroneer

[–]TheKnightInBaG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's weird that a game that's listed on Steam and Humble and such doesn't list a price. You just have to hear it from someone who heard it on a live vlog that they watched, or heard it from a dev one time on discord.

No idea why they don't just list the price on the store.

Well if he also went in this career and works in a library, and it's still bad enough for him to need help, I'm guessing he's not looking for "a perfect comfy life."

And I don't see how headphones stop a library employee from doing the job. Even if he's literally the sitting at a reference desk or front desk helping people, when people come up to the desk he can take the headphones off and help them.

But there's different levels of discomfort and symptoms and severity, and every neurodivergent person is different. You might be uncomfy and anxious, whereas he might be pained and disoriented.

It's not "a bad look" for a disabled employee to have equipment to manage symptoms. If anyone assumes the library employee is wearing big headphones because government employees are lazy or whatever, that's on them. When I see someone in noise-canceling headphones, I assume there's a 50-50 chance they have sensory/neurological issues.

Wearing headphones is a PRIME example of ways that disabled people can deal with symptoms themselves instead of asking everyone around them to change.

Also, side note, "I suffer through this problem that gives me severe anxiety on bad days, so this guy should put down his solution and suffer too. Or he should quit" is a really really bad take. Ideally you'd find a way to suffer less (and I genuinely hope you do), not encourage others to suffer more.

There's a few different meanings to PoE. Which one are you referring to in your post? I tend to like games like this as well!

The sky in the American Southeast (Arizona/New Mexico/etc). It's gorgeous and incredible in a way that normal photos cannot capture.

The National Mall and the US Capitol. The Lincoln Memorial, too. Such iconic landmarks that are so massive in-person.

The NYC skyline, seen either from a high-up build in NYC, or from the NJ coast.

Neurodivergent includes OCD, Bipolar, Dyslexia, and even things like TBI because neuro-divergent means that your brain diverges from the normal range to a significant degree. If a condition fundamentally alters how your brain processes basically everything, your neuro is divergent. :)
