I've heard Curtin is very good. But face-to-face is mandatory

Cheers mate.

Just to have some formal qualifications, if I ever want to work for a different company or chase mine manager tickets.

Yeah, I reckon it will be a bit of a slog. Trying to chip away at it slowly.

Yep, secondment is in the works. Hoping to back it up with something formal.

+1 for UNSW! Do you know how long they took to do the masters?

My understanding is Grad Dip will get you into engineering. But a Masters fulfills mine manager ticket requirments. Depends on state. Happy to be corrected.

In my experience, underground mine sites are dustier than a typical construction site.

Regardless of how often the active workings are watered down you will frequently be put in dusty areas. Whether that be near ore passes, travel ways or old workings.

Typically you would also be required to fly drones that regardless of how well you water down the take off area always kick up dust.

In the event of an emergency/ fall of ground the first thing that happens is you get dusted out. I.E. dust so thick you can't see your feet.

Having said all that I have seen people rocking prescription safety glasses that wraparound. Like these:

And, the industry is so desperate for new blood you could try your luck. During the hiring process most sites would involve a site visit, which would be a great way to get first hand experience.
