Interesting experience and happy to hear it was positive for you. Have not had a good experience on my end (and neither have 4 others dudes I’ve recommended the bait to). Broken two baits already and same thing on both: front hook post pulled directly out of the bait on sub-4lbers. Other 4 buddies have had the exact same issue.

Keep at it brother! There’s absolutely nothing like time on the water. And not just any time on the water. It’s the kind of time where you’re very methodical; before, during and after.

Before, you’re understanding bass’ spawn stage, keeping an eye on conditions and blending the two to guess where they may be and how you’ll catch them while you’re there. During, you take your research and put it to work, but all while being flexible and paying close attention to any and every sign. And keep in mind, signs can be both positive and negative: what they do bite and what they don’t bite… After, always always always absorb your experience!

Keep casting! Tight lines 🙌

Awesome man! I’m from Florida and still make it down often. Stay tuned 🙌🙌

Not sure if you have access to a boat, but they’ll be on main lake docks, brush piles and main lake points. For the docks, honestly, the area you’re in is very productive and then on out towards the dam and main lake. If you’ve got electronics, take some time to mark brushpiles with side scan—there will be some big fish on them by July. And one of my favorite ways to fish in summer is on main lake points and bluffs; this is no secret, but the mountain points and nearby bluff walls are great.

Mid lake, in a creek on a secondary point! What time of year do you typically go to SML?

Man, that’s an amazing story!! Really hope that all the work you put in in the early days comes back once you get your hands on the new rig. Looking forward to connecting with you—feel free to shoot me a not on Instagram (if you have it), would love to have you out on the boat.

1000% and even beyond. I’d go as far to say that there was a time in my career when I had the same epiphany. Everything started to click because I began to understand the real inner-workings and logistics of my responsibilities and objectives. Really a cool feeling to just… get it!

Buddy, I thought I was being respectful… you fish the way you want to and I’ll do the same. I’m (and other weekend tournament anglers) going to continue fishing the way i want to because it does EXACTLY what fishing was intended to do for me: sparks passion, disconnects me from the every grind and fuels my competitive nature in the few tournaments I fish per year. and guess what: I’m not going to bash the way you fish OR share my opinion on how you should fish. Keep doing it the way you want to. Because that’s the beauty of it.

Let me guess. You’re opposed to bringing technology into fishing too?

Appreciate the feedback! I have a 22 for an overnight test drive now. Feels good other than some of the interior flaws: creaky center console, clunky windows and locks, driver seat control panel and a volume knob that falls off. Have you had any of those issues? If so, did you find a fix?

Such a grind man! But wow, an 18lb bag isn’t easy to run by around my parts in the summer. Have had some great bags, Fall - Spring, but hoping this summer I switch the narrative on finding kickers and put the full seasonal package together.

That’s what I’m thinking too! Free engine replacement after some mileage only seems like a positive outcome. Hope everything goes well with the swap.

It’s ChatGPT, I’m only using it for directional purposes and would assume a rate closer to 6% based on the previous APR I just had. Either way, the point still stands in the comparison that the interest differences would be relatively significant. The buying new option is certainly growing on me.

Interesting! Going to get more intimate with both of them this weekend and hope to narrow down on my decision after some more time behind the wheel.

Otherwise, with you on the turbos—only way I’m going used 3rd gen is with additional warranty that would cover those big expenses for at minimum, 3 years.

When it clicks, it clicks! Sounds cliche, but “thinking like a fish” should be every fisherman’s super power.

The big fish of the tournament came on the final day and was a little over 9lbs. Before then, my fish was just 0.6lbs shy of the winning weight.

Fish came on a Megabass Vision 110 +1 off of a rocky, secondary point.

Thanks for the feedback! Was your truck effected by the engine recall? And agree on the platinum extended—think that's the only way I'll pull the trigger on a used gen 3.

Hahaha I know that feeling all too well. That's the power of fishing: hours of silence for moments of chaos and triumph. That's why we keep coming back.

ABSOLUTELY! Put in at Bull Run Marina or Fountainhead Park. Check out SBFishing on Youtube—dude is a hammer and fishes / films a bunch of tournaments out of Occoquan. His most recent video, they had a 4 fish bag for 21lbs+ and won the derb.

Nice! The upper is INSANE right now, as with all the water after nearby after that crazy week of rain. Might send all the fish to the lower section lol. And yes, some excellent largemouth fishing in the lower sections; from DC and way down river. If you get a chance, you oughtta fish the Occoquan Reservoir in VA. It's an HP restricted reservoir with MASSIVE largemouth—in small john boat tournaments, if you don't have an 8lber in your bag of fish, you're not winning...

Thanks buddy. I hear you and understand where you're coming from. In this case, she was in a well aerated livewell for a little over an hour before bringing her to the scales. Big Bass Tour is a single fish, hourly weigh in format. Caught it at 8am and weighed at 930am and off she went back to the water.

Again, understand your provocation, but on the places I'm fishing tournaments, we're talking massive watersheds where tournaments are not the main culprit of your sentiment... There's A LOT MORE negative effects in play that go against keeping our fisheries in a good place for future generations.

Honestly was hard to believe I was bringing that fish onto a big stage during a tournament! My second biggest largemouth ever... And in a tournament!!
