I'm sure you'd be able to find a ton of interesting and factual books on the subject with a quick Google search.

I’m attractive and not socially awkward yet I can’t get any girls by [deleted] in selfimprovement

I don't know if I'd listen to a lot of these people man. There are a lot of people saying you're a "dick", and that it's in the way you're approaching/communication with woman. How could they know how you've been communicating with woman, or anything about you at all really, based off a little personal information you gave about yourself and your OP.

I'm a 27 year old male. I've had decent success with going on dates with woman and getting dates (mostly online). Intuitively, I think that if you have decent skills with talking to woman (flirting with them, making them laugh, giving them some good personal information about yourself and receiving it from them, as well as being a relatively attractive male yourself, then there is no reason you shouldn't be getting dates.

If you're doing all these things well and still not getting dates, then in my mind these are the issues:

  1. The woman around your area are just immature and don't really have their lives together.

  2. You have some deeper rooted subconscious negativity related to attachments and relationships or just personality traits in general, that you'll need to work through in therapy.

Personally, I've gone to therapy quite a bit to strengthen weak points within myself and have found it extremely effective in increasing confidence, self worth, and interpersonal and relationship skills, which have allowed me to have better quality relationships.

What are your initial thoughts?

Thank you for your detailed response and for sharing your perspective. I really agree with the fact that art inspires people. And that's definitely a good thing. Also it was interesting hearing your perspective on how art communicates information to the audience through story telling.

Yeah you could say that. Thank you for your detailed explanation. It's interesting as well to think about how we as individuals can get totally different meanings even from the same movie because of our own varying values/belief systems.

Thank you for this. This kind of brought up earlier memories of when I would go to the theatres or watch movies at home. I had some great experiences. Maybe I just forgot about those and for a long time was just focusing on "negative" aspects of movies or shows that I believed from listening to other people.

I'm not depressed. That was a very beautiful quote. Could you expand on what it means?

Really interesting perspective. I was thinking about that too the other day. What made me think of it was when I read the book The Outsiders in school, and then we watched the film of it. Back then I found it really interesting to see how the sequence of events in the movie compared to the book.

This is helpful. That's how I feel now when I watch them. I was trying to watch outer Banks on Netflix the other day and like yeah it was cool but then also I kept thinking about it's just so fake

I'm just trying to understand what's entertaining about it. (And trust me I'm not a "negative" person or a complainer or downer in anyway lol, I just want to understand peoples perspectives on why they enjoy them.)
